Fished Friday and managed 2 snoek, one of 5kg and one of 2kg, dropped a few more for some unknown reason, tried for Tunny with live bait had 4 runs but no luck., one tackle failure and three they dropped the mozzies  <: <: <:, was a great day out.
A bad days fishing is better than sitting at home moping.

Ja Chris, they were very frustrating when you can see them and they are not totally committed to the bite, I pulled all the way down past Glenashley and never had a pull, spent another three hours trying for that couta in great conditions - light SW 24.5deg clean and nada except for another 50kgish hammer to warm the drag!!
Pulled back at about 11:30(sometimes the tide change gets them to come on) and was rewarded with a double up off Virginia.....only a 3kg one stuck but I suppose its better than nothing :rck"

We launched Durban yesterday.
Sea was lovely and got better as the morning went on.
We really battled to get bait on the usual bait spots, tried them all with not much success. Eventually managed a few scads and decided to head out and drift.
We drifted on a few of our usual spots but the water was green. I then decided that we may as well trawl to the drilling rig. We found beautiful blue water and it was 25degree's. We put the first live bait in the water and just as i was ready to flick out the second one i saw a swirl exactly where the first on landed. I let the circle hook do its thing and then tighted up and imidiately a  :sailf:  came out. As she jumped she managed to spit the hook but exciting never the less. Funny thing was that there were atleast another 2 sailies with this one as they were still cirling where the first bait had landed. I quickly threw out the second bait but no luck.
We stuck it out and about and hour later we were rewarded with a nice tuna of 17kgs

We then saw the NE starting and headed back home. A lovely morning out with my Dad and Father-in-law.

Lekker stuff Scott, nice tuna there especially considering most okes blanked yesterday. Hard luck on the Sailie too, we had a small Marlin put on a huge display off the stern as though it was hooked... Not sure if it was being chased  :dunno:

We started the day by leaving our rigged rappies in the lounge  duh:+ cred:  To FFF for bailing me out and lending me a handful. We tried for a  :wahoo:  but blanked so went for some bottoms and did really well. Released all but one Rockcod and 2 nice sized Englishman.

Good to see some of the UA boys again, hoping to get out a few times this week on the ski.
