Pulled another 7:30 launch on Sunday, strangely found no bait at the one spot where there had been tons of shad mozzies last week but got a big soldier for the pan on a bait jig  :-)
Went to the 50m past Umhlanga and found the best water I have seen in a long time - deep blue and 25.7deg - pulled for close to 20kms and nothing, saw Scott (magnything) at Yarningdale where I saw a sicklefin....... :billf: or :sailf: ?? - pulled the area for a few loops but nada :-(
Nice day on the water capped by a superb baked red for dinner that cost about R400  :-) :-(
Also met FFF on the beach - they did pretty well with the bottoms :rck"

we launched on Monday 06h00 at DSBC and much the same sort of day, lots of sand soldiers and 2 mozies at the barge and then nada, fished the 50m past the ships and some hits on the bottom but nothing hooked, the SW came up along with rain and shiny jaggy stuff so back in for 11h00, a nice day on the water though with my son
when I die, may my wife not sell my fishing tackle for what I told her I paid for it... and I have bought more, a severe case of TA

Myself, FFF and Fluffer ventured South on Sunday, managed to get bait (mozzie and plenty pinkie) head to our target area and hopefully get a Couta, but game fish side we blanked, then targeted bottoms and managed a 20kilo mix bag, 3.5kilo rubberlip, 2kilo Soldier, 2 kilo German Bream, 2 Kilo Butchers ...ck, 2 kilo tomato rockod and more of the same but smaller plus slinger so had fresh fish for the pan, plus mates are chuffed they score fresh fish.
Water was beautiful blue colour, best seen in a loooong time.

Good one Denzyl, couple of nice ones there, I wouldn't mind a few when we get down there.
What is happening to the couta, not good news for the comp :-(

Tony, think we have to fish  for Couta very shallow like fishing for snoek, Skis are getting them close in.

That's a good sized Rubber Lips.
The Cuda are doing their annual migration away from the DBSC comp.

Launched at about 6 this morning from DSBC, headed north for some snoek but got nothing. Changed tactics and went out deeper and managed a decent sarda and a small 5 kg yft after about 30 km of trolling. The sea got quite choppy as the front moved in early so called it quits at about 10h30.

After trolling the paint off the plastic we missed a double strike 5km before the Deep Sea Metro 1, the deep sea drill that has been lying on anchor since december.  We then  got lucky right next to the ship and loaded 3 out of 4 WITHOUT wire traces. Thanks to Francois, our skipper, for an amazing day.

We came down for a weeks fishing laast weekend. We launch on Sunday through the harbour and trolled around up to umshlanga no action after a long while we got a small bonnie and put it out for live bait, not 5min and the reel screamed. We lost a croc of around 25kg next to the boat . That was it for the day.

Monday we went to the ships, around 25km of durban. We trolled around the ships, we got a YFT and a big skipjack. We went a little deaper and got a nice dorado of 9kg.

Tuesday started really bad with loosing the boat keys and haveing to go back home to get the spares set.eishhh. I desides to troll around No1 and with only me amd my brother we got n triple strike on YFT landed 2. We then desided to stick around and got another triple strike landinv one. So it wnet on and we landed 7 YFT around 4,5kg in 2 ours. We then deside toe go look for bigger fish around the ship, no luck only a slightly bigger YFT.

Wednesday the sea was not so nic. We had a short session with 3 triple strike and landing  7 YFT agian. All in under 2 hours. Wat a day.

Tuesday we had a really nice day on the water, really flat. Got another 3 YFt and desided to go look for ather species, went closer to shore only to hook the taxman. Nothing els

Friday the sea turned upside down, got one more YFT but had a triple strike. Also got bitte  of by a wahoo close to the boat( didnt use wire)

All in all was a very good trip, no big fish but we had loads of fun. We landed 21 fish and had more than 30 strikes. No for the road back to GP

Wahoo  :wahoo:  :wahoo: :wahoo: :wahoo: :wahoo: :wahoo: were thick yesterday and again to day, we got 6 yesterday and dropped about another 6, and today was exactly the same got 6 and dropped about 6 and we also got 2 YFT  :yft: today.
Am not happy as we also lost 6 X-Raps over the 2 days and now I have to go buy more and can't see me coming home with only 6 and I have to revenge buy at least 2 for each one lost. Top lure which got most the wahoo was X-Rap 30 in Ghost until it got bitten off  :-(
The fish wanted it fast and the faster we trolled the more hits we got and were trolling 8-10knts
