Believe the Vaal river canoe marathan is soon ( this weekend I think  :dunno: ) . How will this effect fishing in the next 2 weeks ???

Well it seems like the chances of hooking a canoeist  or being hit by a canoe would increase drastically...

Expect flows of 80 - 100 below the Barrage on Sunday.  :hnthnt:
They will start increasing the flows from Sat evening below the Barrage. This will flush a lot of the snot, but also totally bugger up the great vis we have been having lately. :unhap :unhap
If we caught fish on every trip, it would be called " Catching". We don't, and that's why it's called "Fishing".

I have fished Strome on a Sunday, in the middle of the race before. Flows were 80 +.  :craz:
Saterday arvie should be kooking on a rising flow. Just keep a good eye open for the rising water, and make sure you have a way out if it get's too high.  w;k

Sorry Craig, won't be joining as I'm fishing Oord Nebo on Sunday, which should also be kooking on a rising flow. :fshn: :hnthnt:

Ok we hit Duck gully yesterday morning. The water flow was a lot faster but still fishable. Sean was on the ball and landed two nice yellows in the morning, we waded about a km up the 4th channel, my legs are feeling it today  .

After a long trek through the island and wading through chest deep water back to home bass we had a few cold ones waiting for us. After a relaxed braai and some food in our bellies  we hit the second sesh at around 3:00. I managed 3 little yellows and Sean landed a massive small mouth of 2.7kgs and due to going for a swim with my camera earlier that day...we didn't get a photo  :-(

Good day all in all
