Fishing Eendekuil this Sunday with Bryan. Who else is pulling in ?  :fshn: :frid
If we caught fish on every trip, it would be called " Catching". We don't, and that's why it's called "Fishing".

Fished Eendekuil with Bryan and Thinus this morning. Flows were up to around 30  :happ: :happ: after yesterdays rains. The muddies were spawning big time, and glad to say not one person out of the 20 odd on the water targeted them.  :clwn

I worked my over to the fourth run and soon got two muddies in consecutive casts and then lost the bottom half of my leader, thanks to a monster carp. :unhap

Rigged up again and got another muddie and a sm yellow of around 2.5kg. The yellow was on the bling bling control fly, all the muddies on the point nymph.

I know Bryan was hammering the  fish, including  Carp and Barbel but let's let him tell the story. w;k

All in all, another great day on the Vaal. :fshn: :fshn: :fshn:

Fished Strome from 12-6 roughly... in the rain and hail....
lots of rocksnot, and lots of ons and offs..... very frustrating but we persevered !

Worked really hard and finally landed a yellow of around a kg.... almost 6 hours for 1 fish !

fished most of the 1st run Rory...

The rock snot was bad... I hooked a good few fish, lost at least 3 when the control fly got snagged...  Kallie also landed 1...

Had a Vaal newbie with us... 1st time he ever held a rod, as he is from Mumbai India. Needless to say, he did the Vaal Shuffle !

:hehe:

Believe the Vaal river canoe marathon is soon ( this weekend I think  :dunno: ) . How will this effect fishing in the next 2 weeks ???

Ps: for those who dont know - loads of water is released from the dam to in the river for the marathon.

Well it seems like the chances of hooking a canoeist  or being hit by a canoe would increase drastically...
