Well at least you were on the water. Saw your pic of the flat sea. Find when the sea is so flat very hard fishing.

Took Friday off and tried for snoek............... :shd: :shd: :shd: :shd: :shd: :shd: :shd: :unhap all the way from Virginia to Umhlanga!!
Went to a few reefs off Umhlanga/Glenashley for bottoms, got a few undersized dageraad, slinger and soldiers - basically blanked but for the first time ever was amongst the sards on the boat(if only I had a cast net!!) there were lots of pockets off Durban and plenty whales out deep - roll on summer!!
Just Fish!!!

Launched on Sunday from DSBC at about 6am went north for some snoek, only managed to get a few baits mauled by small shad.

Headed for the Barge which looked like something was happening but only produced bait. On the way to the barge we passed a couple of schools of sards which looked like they were being chassed, cast plugs and spoons and pulled lures around and through them but NADA :dunno:

I see there is a gang of self appointed boat washers at DSBC that have tried to lay claim to the taps. They sit on the bench outside the club house and harass every boat that pulls up to the taps. Even after telling the one quite clearly that I am quite capable of washing my own boat, the minute I turned my back he put his bucket and hose right at the tap were I was working....a real irritation after a relaxing day out at sea.

Hi Chigger sorry about the bad days on the water, regarding the boat washers they are a pest, Hilton threw his toys out the cot on Saturday morning because the "car guards" were washing the boats, he threatened to fire them there and then. There has been a problem lately with theft at the club so the car guards are being watched very closely. I asked him about the boat washers and I was informed there are none.

The guys who are too lazy to wash their own boats will be the same ones having valuables or gear stolen. Once the rot sets in its difficult to stop.
