Unpredictable sea conditions this weekend.

Take care with the tricky DSBC launch this weekend!

Just arrived back after spending a relaxing week in the berg with my wife (no fishing) sight seeing, walking and having tea and scones in the berg sun. I haven't launched for two weeks and I am really looking forward to taking the two boys out tomorrow and hope we can get some fish,  :sreel: :fshn:

Had a great day on the water today, fishing was hard but accomplished what I set out to do, I am sure FFF will do a report. It was great catching up with all the banterers (Fritz, Gareth, Greg, Richard, HD, Ant, Denzil, Sean H, Quintin, Scott, and all the wives and kids) and enjoying a few cold ones and talking some real BS. Great bunch of guys and girls, till next weekend cheers.

Very nice day indeed on the water yesterday, only got Shad Dad, but the kids landed them all, it wasn't about size or species, they caught and they chuffed. I echo Chris report, good to see all the nutters at the club. Chris took some brilliant pics of the two wipper snappers on his boat, so lets wait for FFF report.

Have a super Sunday everyone.

Took Kieran and 3 of his friends deepsea fishing for his birthday.

We headed to DSBC at 05:00 and the kids were really excited. Had to drive with 3 kids in the bakkie, well the talking did not stop from when we left the house till we arrived at the club. Excitment was to much for them.

Met CLS at the club and Kieran and Hanu fished on his boat. Keaten and Evan fished on our boat. Launched early and ran to Blue lagoon to try for snoek.
We caught a lot of shad, but catching fish was the what we set out to achieve and you could see the excitment in the kids ever time they landed a fish.
CLS and the 2 boys were also picking up shad on the snoek traces and evertime we went past each other you had the kids shouting to each other how many they had.
Watching from the boat i saw CLS had put Kieran onto a decent fish and Kieran stood there fighting away. Shame when the fish got close to the boat you could hear Kieran shouting its a snoek. Watched as the boated the fish and then the shouting really started. It was Kierans first snoek so i think the whole of Durban heard him shouting.
We had 2 good pulls but both times the hooks pulled halfway through the fight.

We then decided to try for a tuna and caught a couple of nice mackeral which we swam by the marks but had no takers. Time flys when you having fun and before we new it it was 11:00. Had planned to beach at 12:00 so we headed back. Just before we had left CLS had said it was time to go as the throat was dry. Shame Keaten tells me we got energades give him one. Only to explain CLS needed a beer.

After we beached met up with all the guys. I must say it was good to see all the old faces again. Like a shelter meeting almost as everybody was there.

Weighed Kieran snoek and it was 3.1Kg.
Also like to say a big thankyou to CLS. What a great man. :+ cred:  You made the kids day so great. Think Kieran going to jump ships soon. He catches fish on your boat.
