Sorry guys.

It's been hectic my side , but I have a " fishing room ' now ha ha pretty stoked .

That's for the guys keeping things alive on the thread , hermann / warrick / Sean .

Some good colour , and the easterly is around , water temp up inside the bay .

I know David Tayland I are  planning a type of fishathon later the week .

And I know tony is around , but I leave him over the weekends ( family time.

My advice is ek a mission anywhere from Nostra to de mond , remember when the sea I big and there's large / strong swell don't bother fishing de mond surf .
From the harbour around there strong seas with cold clear water , plenty of guys tried around there with minimal luck .

I know the galjoen has been wild at die walle for those up for a walk . Bet there would be some good areas opening up , so should be worth it to make the mission .

On the commi side , there's been BEK and large snoek around . Not bins full .
4 bins of bek and bout 60 /80 snoek of the skiboats , they have been getting good snoek in Hans baai too last week .
Our comms had to go all the way to buffelsjags , which is if you don't know , by road 40 od km.  it's bloody far .

Hopefully I will have agood report within the next weeks .

It is great to see you are back, Lenny. We were worried about you. Say hi to Tony when you see him. Tight lines.

Thursday 27.08.2015...

Sorry guys but I have been really busy and tied up a lot so not here as much as I would like but hopefully in middle of October will be able to post a report on sordies.

I did manage to head home to the southern Cape for a few days and visit the family. I had work on the boat, so fishing was not foremost on my mind and have stripped of the rest of my decals and stickers so the boat can get a proper polish and removed the rubbing strips and put a new bird cover on the boat as the starlings are a real problem in the store!

On the Tuesday we noticed that the weather was looking really good for wed, Thurs and Friday but I was out of the loop for Tuesday and Friday so called Lenny and some other mates who were all keen despite the Cape winter weather.

I rounded up Lenny, Anton, Rob ( usually a Spearo) and my middle son Keelan. Lenny secured us some very nice harders for bait.

We headed out on Thursday morning at about 08h00 and ran from Struis around Agulhas lighthouse towards Suiderstrand with plans of going to Brandfontein or Diepgate. The weather was WET and miserable but the big pond was flat and cool at about 15deg.

On the way past Suiderstrand some bird activity prompted us to put out back lines with small blue and pink lures and in short order we had small Katonkle on deck for bait (Keelan was discussed that we were going to use his prise catch for bait!)

I notice some marks on the bottom in about 30m water in the same area and we dropped a hook and put out lines. We had lots of pecking and nibbling until Lenny hooked into a small Geelbek which was sent back to the depths. Eventually Lenny was the king of the day with 2 nice Geelback and I got a nice Red Stump (Miss Lucy). Anton was catching the sharks faster than he could replenish his leader and was getting ticked off to boot - the smoothies went back to the deep as did most everything else including a very pretty leopard shark and plenty of silvers. Rob should have stuck to the spearing as he caught squat! The commercials eventually came and dropped near us as the were obviously not getting and more Geelbek in the "Gat" so we upped lines and went on the troll.

We hooked into plenty of small Katonkles and after a few were boated, we packed up and were home just after lunch.
