If the sand is hard enough you can launch on your own almost anywhere. If there is a nasty shore dump you just have to be prepared to get wet and possibly pick up a bruise or two while pushing into the water.

Gets a bit difficult to turn the ski and push/pull it on your own if the sand is very soft but if you eat your pap you will manage eventually.

Easiest when you are alone is launching out a river like Umkomaas, no pushing and pulling, just drop into the water.

7/10... need specifics on the rods and reels. As for the ski, already been thinking that its going to require a different approach in terms of tackle storage and gear  duh

With this rainy/windy weather we're having in the Western Cape, it's probably a good time to challenge my resolve to fight tackle addiction and ability to dodge my wife's eagle eyes and visit a tackle shop or two. I only know the shop near Somerset Mall. We are staying in Kuilsrivier at the moment. Any other shops worth a visit nearby?. Thanks!

The rods have been posted - Euan (Harvard16) made me a custom popping stick with a 8" Black hole nano blank and Koos did me a Sage Xi3 12wt fly rod... and the reel - another Stella - you can never have enough.
I cant sleep and keep looking at these links - only 7 weeks and I will be with them....

I don't know many shops in CT but the best ones are The fishing Specialist in Voortrekker road, Fred Tuckers in Main Road Diep River and Suburban Tackle... I can list you some more if you need but fishing specialist are good and relatively near you in Kuilsriver.

Was dreaming with a pair of 80s to close my collection. Then out of nowhere I got a call from a local friend who imported 6 of these from the US last year... he has 3 x 80s as well.... was wondering if I knew anyone who might be interested. Closed the deal like in 10 seconds!

When you go to Fishing Specialist, it is best to take only cash for whatever you need to buy or maybe an extra R100.
DONT take your cards with, once there, you see so many things that you think you need, few swivels, some more hooks, a few more floats... damn that is a nice fishing knife etc...
Went to get a rod and reel, which was supposed to work out R4000. Then i saw the braid and additional rod stand and small bits and bobs and it was R6000 at the till  :shk :hehe:

My PA is getting the hell in, I have a second tackle and rod storage in my office, stuff that my special other doesn't know about.........yet. Will have to ease it into the garage at home, bit by bit.

Had to get a new Jigging rod after breaking my Hot's 54m on a GT like a poepol.

MC Works Southern Blue 535ss its a beast of a rod!
