Any tips on casting a grinder with braid to get better distance? Same techniques - I am talking about lure fishing.Particularly, how to cast a light lure like a camp worm on a small stick - and a rapala on a bigger stick. These are my two problems - I feel that I can never get far enoughZiggy... ultra-light lure angling doesn't use any of the above techniques, (weight transfer etc), the tackle is just too light. With light lures, it's very difficult to load the rod blank. Rather, the rod loading comes through developing a wristy flick action with the rod tip... using speed of the rod tip to flick the lure out.

As I said in post #17, you can't apply this to light tackle. Light and Ultra-light tackle fishing involves generating rod load through the speed of flicking from the wrist.
Nice Tutorial Reefman Rory recently showed me the off the ground method as i was struggling a bit with my heavy rod and a 10oz sinkerIt works a charm and has definately improved my casting technique, it feels more natural now
