Marcos

I want to do some spinning or let me rather say lure fishing from the shore and depending on how things go I might take a ski with.

I've been there once, beautiful place. I'm dying to go back.
We stayed at Nonguane lodge. Very nice accommodation, the tented camp is very affordable and neat. Next time however we will try to book at Camp Carlos, much closer to the fishing areas.
there is a beautiful channel for spinning on the lodge's side of hells gate. There is a sand bank between this channel and the main channel if I can call it that. When I was fishing there were game fish thrashing and going wild in the main channel but it was out of reach from the shore. Closer to the beach there is some beautiful churning water with some rocks, lovely gt water.
I never fished the beach when we were there but I have read articles of some great fishing from the R&S.
I'm not sure about the ski fishing sorry.

The drive there is an adventure, the reserve one has to drive through is lovely, 4x4 required as the road is very thick sand most of the way.

You can also drive to Maputo and ask the guys at the lodge to pick you up there with their boat. Just not sure whether all of them do this.

Two ways to get there: through the Elephant Reserve (4x4 mandatory via Kosi!) or from Maputo (crossing the bay - could be an option).

Never fished there seriously but have seen some good fish!

Spinning with soft plastics, plugs, spoons is very productive in the channel/rocks.

If you bringing a ski I would say choose your tides carefully. Going through the surf is not easy (it's called hell's gate for a reason!). Avoid windy, ebbing spring tides!

Great scenery and can potentially produce great catches!

I try mate but she wont listen. If that road is covered in sand the only way I will get their without getting stuck is to put a load on the back. So its either sand bags or some friends.

Fritz, you take a taxi to Club Naval and arrange with your hosts to pick you up by small boat. Or maybe John can deposit you there?
