Yes, they are waiting for this afternoon's high tide. A friend of mine is involved in the launch and he is confident they can pull it off. The other slipways are too narrow and they can't take that big lady through town.

Any other time and I would say no way, but the timing is right (Spring High). Good luck, please let us know how it goes, get some photos if you can. (I also hope they get it in the water before the tide recedes too much.)

I am just worried that she is too wide for the channel as it is very narrow in places.

At spring high, they will make it. But if they miss the 2-3hr window, they could have a problem. I know that channel like the back of my hand, if they can launch from that site, they should be fine. It's the launch site that concerns me! (The channel is very narrow, you are 100% correct, but I think they know that there is no way that they will be able to navigate just within the channel.)

Look at the shape of her bows from the side, is this no a bit unusual for it to slope that way? It is almost as if they are upside down? What would be the reason for this?

That's a new direction for design of ocean going vessels SAfish, large ships are also beginning to take that form. Must be a good reason as I see some ocean going sailing yachts also with that design bow.

She is still under construction. The building team is ferried everyday to finish it.

'no idea when she'll be ready Clive. Maybe Hermann will know. We were on one of the house boats for 3 days last week. The Wife couldn't resist to take pics every time we passed it... (

I will try and find out when they are going to do her sea trails. They are still busy fitting her out and as far as I know she has not been sold yet. Anyone have R50 bar lying around?
