Thanks guys.

:-( I didn't get to fish yesterday, the wind was howling and I was in no mood to be blown into the water. Maybe today after work.  :hnthnt: :hnthnt:

I went back again for another session and the fish did not let me down. They were there in full force and I managed to land three of the youngsters.  :yipee:
Once again they were chasing my lures cast for cast but I found it difficult to get a decent hook-up. Up to 4 fish were chasing my lure at a time and they were falling over each other to get to it. I think this made it difficult for them to zero in on the lure.
I got two on a white Onda-onda and one on a HMS spoon. Fritz, your spoons have a deadly action in the water and a slower retrieve produced the biggest fish today!  :resp:
My fishing came to an abrupt halt when some a-hole decided that it is a good idea to row straight across the spot where the fish were congregated.  swr <: Eish, the guy almost won himself a spoon against the head. After that I lost my cool and took my frustration out on my cast and it almost ended in tears.  I threw a big over wind and my line broke but I managed to retrieve my spoon. After that I decided it was home time for a cold one!
Like Arnie said in The Terminator: "I'll be back!".  :hehe:

:hehe: I feel so sorry for the little ones that I don't want to keep them out of the water too long. I took a photo with my phone and I will see if I can load it.

A dead whale washed up on the rocks in front of the Buffalo Bay caravan park yesterday. Municipal Manager, Lauren Waring, issued a warning that people should stay out of the water because of the presence of sharks attracted by the carcass. I think there are going to be a lot of guys fishing for sharks this weekend.  :fshn: :brnz:

This weeks front page of the local paper (Knysna Plett Herald) also sported a photo of a mini sardine run at Plettenberg Bay on the 3 April. It looks like the sardines have started their migration to the KZN coast.  :hnthnt: :hnthnt:

There have been a lot of discussions going on about the pollution of the Knysna lagoon. It finally looks like something will be done. At this stage I would not eat anything coming out of the lagoon.  :puke:

"Following a detailed report in response to consistently high counts of E. Coli entering the Knysna Estuary, the Knysna Municipal Section 80 Committee for Planning Development and Infrastructure recommended that its council commits in principle to allocate at least R38,3-million over the next five years towards the permanent reduction of pollution into one of its most important natural resources, the Knysna Lagoon."

Hey Hermann,

Traditionally, is the fishing good in April? It will be the first time that we come there in April. Normally we do the Dec and June thing, but I decided to come through in April. Last Dec the Lagoon was so busy. This year I saw that the Gauteng schools go back a week before the Cape, so we will stop by in the last week or so of the holidays. But what about April?

Regards
Robin

Nee wat, the water isnt even safe to swim in.
Possibly a reason the fish are so shy on our coast?
 :craz:
When I spoke with a gentleman working at the 'shut-down' desalination plant in Sedgefield, I asked him what are you Ou's pumping into the sea at Myoli Beach... (the pipe had washed up due to stormy seas)....he said to me thats called 'Heavy Brine' ...'and what does it do' I asked.....he said...'it lies there..it doesnt go away...it coats the rocks/reefs/sand/shellfish/old anchors'...alles thats down there...in fact he said, 'it chokes the life out of the sea bottom'.

Go do the math chaps...the Garden Route hasnt got alot of Garden left!
Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after.

Psy, I agree with you. Look how quickly they got approval to put the desalination plant next to the lagoon in Knysna. All that brine is pumped into the lagoon where it will wash up and down with the tide.  duh
