Fishing efficiency measures for the whole 24 hour period. But there were some good spikes yesterday. Today was much better.
And always remember, fish don't have iPhones...

Hey Jaen,

Any idea how the Fishcalc works? Is it only based on the lunar cycle or does incorporate other parameters?

AS far as I know for now only lunar + location. Coming up in future version more weather, temp etc etc as params.

The 2 graphs look fairly similar to me!  :dunno:

I don't think the "fishcal" is worth paying attention to. There are so many more factors it can't take into account.

I have a barometer that also has the fish calc on it and then makes predictions according to the lunar, solar and barometer.
My gut is better on this, after looking at my machine.

It is seriously off the chart.

JAEN during yesterday I'm aware of a boat that had three strikes up to about 9:00am. That puts them in the trough of one of your weather patterns, however they did not hook up so we are awaiting some hookup info to correlate.

SHAG I pressume the viz is as good as it gets?

I wonder. It is good but at the same time the guys here off Durban are getting better averages in general. I just heard 3rd hand, so no evidence of a boat getting 5 marlin strikes and landing 2 billies. 3 dropped because they are inexperienced!  :cnfzd

What I think is more interesting is to look at the individual boats catches. Are the fish being caught by a handfull of boats??

As a matter of interest, I've been in contact with Nico and apparently the fishing in Hemingway has been poor! 2 days for them on the water produced 2 sails, no Marlin. Lets hope today is a cracker for them!

water temp is High and very clean, fish are fairly deep(I am keeping hold of that info for obvious reasons)

only 5 boats have not reported strikes, there have been a couple of doubles, but of the 9 strikes the rebel got all were seperate fish.

we are busy checking what the pressure was doing last week and what its doing now, my bet is its been stable all of last week and it may be starting to drop very slowly this week.....

just for the record...I don't live by any fishcal or barometer or anything else. When I fish I always fish hard.
The rate the billies are coming out I couldn't be bothered even looking at the weather forecast. Just get line in the water.

I know mate but we cannot help searching for that pattern. As you know once you are in the water all the theories melt away.... :hehe: :hehe:

121 hookups and over 70 releases, water temp was close on 29 C, regards Seun

Hey Deon!

Its been a long time!! :welc:

I believe you had a scorcher of a trip, Eric gave me a call, well done bud!

Its got to be one of the best numbers we have had on our coastline with the boat to fish ratio!

What was your most popular lure?

Greg,

Went through a few lures, but the blacks and blues took slant head 2W's and the stripeys couldn't leave a slant head fruit salad pulsator alone. I only
fish with 10 and 12 "O" single hook rigs and they worked a charm. Bees and myself also had hits on blue and white Island Expresses with chain gangs, I know he landed at least one on it. What was odd was that every hit I had on a 2W, the lure was destroyed
