DAIWA SL50SH BEARINGS

RHSide Spool Bearing            7x14x3.5
LH Side Plate bearing            4x11x4
Bottom Drive shaft bearing    7x14x3.5
Top Drive shaft bearing            8x16x5
Cast Control bushing            4x8x6

To upgrade the reel bearings, switch to Abec 5 Ceramics... makes a huge difference! Also replace the Cast Control bushing with a bearing... it becomes a different reel!!

You talking about this no. 1 part?

It fits into the LHSide plate underneath the bearing (#2) and the felt washer (#3).

Like this... the yellow patch in the centre of the bearing is that little bronze washer (#1).

The top piece...? got no idea, show us a pic of the other side of that piece?

2nd: Brass washer that fits inside the Cast Control Cap - see the Yellow piece inside the Cast Control cap?

3rd: Ratchet washer that fits underneath the Cast Control Clutch lever

Some of these pics below are from a Grandwave, but the same principle applies....

4th: Teflon bushing that fits onto the spool shaft (This is what the Grandwave looks like, but the SL50 should be very similar).

5th: Clutch spring that fits inside, onto the Cast control lever

That top piece... is it thin like a washer?

Then probably the washer that fits under the bearing in the drive shaft...

Any idea as to where I can get a bearing to replace the Cast Control bushing 4x8x6 as the only ones I can find on the net are all one way?

Thanks

Tim

Use 2  4x8x3 bearings to make up the height of 6mm.

Howzit Reefman,

As you mentioned all left overs were correct.

Reel is back to normal but:

1) Is there any specific way the yoke plate should be set when putting the RH side back together?  I'm able to engage free spool but something is not sitting right as there is a slight knocking sound when i turn the handle in free spool and when i disengage free spool it feels the same as a car slipping gears, when i start to turn lever. Not a smooth as i would like. The clutch cam and spring were set back as the same in your pic. Any thoughts?

2) The ratchet on the LH side is also not engaging. The bearing had actually seized and had to be forcefully removed so components might have been bent slightly. Retainer plate is defiantly not straight. Could this be the cause?

Cheers
Nic
