Also, tried the new live bait well. It fills up quickly and works well. Only problem will be finding the bait inside the black bin. Granted, the water is very murky at the moment inside the bay (they are dredging the shipping channel for a few months now), so I couldn't see the bottom of the bin. Will have to get a large scoop net to get the bait...

Went to Inhaca this morning and tested the livebait well again. This time with clean oceanic water. Could clearly see the bottom of the bin and all contents. All good!

Depending on the time you did the sniffing (before, during or after the flotex), you may want to check the flotex... probably tomorrow  :crzy

After 3 years my club trailer started squeaking the last few times I launched. Decided to open up the hub and check the bearings.... no surprises there....

New bearings, greased up and sorted!!!!

Roll on summer!

Please ensure that your hub is not damaged in anyway IE the grease cap and seal must sit tite like a tiger :)

You dont want any waner into the hub. Also make sure that area where the seal seats onto the journal , that that is clean and rust / damage free. Any nasties here will chow the seal over time and wham bam thank you man . there goes  the bearing again

Last time I launched, coming back my jockey wheel was ripped off of the trailer. There's a big hole at the end of the ramp and when the winch pulls the boat up, well... sometimes "the poop happens"...

So, yesterday I spent the morning fixing it with the help of our very competent welder, senhor Cardoso. Trailer is now ready for the weekend!

Been booked off with some flu, I changed the console, YET AGAIN! Made the cuts for the switch panels and started fitting the steering helm. Waiting for the kid to visit so we can go buy materials for the trailer and the hull. Then probably off to Tanzania for a week and then it's sparks from the cut-off, grinders and welder. Then before I spray that, I'll need to make some serious sawdust 1st to get the 2,4m panels spliced together so I can cut my the then 2nd almost 6m long sheer, bottom, stringer and bulkhead panels.

Getting restless now!
When I die, will somebody please dress up as the Grim Reaper and attend, don't need to do or say anything, just stand there!

Heat formed a visor for the console from plexiglass and it came out rather nice!

I've just spent the last hour in my garage to see where you might have placed the surveillance camera, how'd you know?  (bat

Was going to start with the trailer and the hull in Dec but, an unplanned (poorly planned, not on my behalf) trip abroad, spending Christmas in MP and not being able to get material after New Years (the trailer spares shop only opened today) has shifted the start date back a bit.  :cnfzd

Going to get material for the trailer tomorrow. Been sourcing some final bits and supplies the last couple of days.

When I drop a line n durban harbour with my camera tied on the end to take a video of that partial mullet it also seems to magically drop onto your garage

After a lot of foul language i eventually managed to link up the Garmin echomap 92 SV to my Standard Horizon 1300 eclipes VHF DSC.
Garmin should give a brief to do list for setting up and linking the 2 units. The manual does give all the info but its scattered all over.
