Gave the motors a good service yesterday, all new plugs, cleaned up air cleaners, changed gear oil and fixed my port side rev counter.
There was an intermittent problem whereby it would just drop to zero RPM. I ran a seperate wire from the motor to the control box after discovering that the main loom wires were pretty corroded and bingo.....like new.
Charged the batteries with the C-Tek charger on recondition for 24 hours, but it looks like I might just need to replace them in the near future, they're not holding the charge like they used to. Batteries for boats and caravans etc take a pounding as they sit around for most of the time and then are suddenly called on to do the work.
There seems to be a bit of a leak somewhere in the starboard motor's autolube system as I have 2 stroke oil seeping down the outside of the shaft, not much, but a bit irritating. I'll have to check around in there today. Maybe it is residue from spilt oil when last I filled up at sea, not an easy task when the boat is rocking and rolling. Hermann knows all about that. w;k
I am planning on a quick 3 or 4 day run to Inhaca at the end of next month,  enough of this waiting for summer garbage and our Sodwana trip still seems so far away.

Oh well, it did the job, just like Bwana's chumming for Tuna. And I thought the 5 km oil slick was from the QE2 :hyst:

yeah.... should have done it 3 years ago.... oh well... This time it's going to be done properly and for good. Getting rid of all the rotting plywood and a proper sandwich glass and mat transom will be put in place. Sourced all the resin etc. Work starts tomorrow. Should take about 2 weeks from start to finish!

I had my transom done about a year ago after the Landy drivers dumped me into the sand at the Dbn Couta comp and busted my old one in 2014  :unhap

Got the Scouse back today... 200 hour service done, installed a new upgraded Fusion sound system, new lunar tube pump installed, repaired brakes on trailer and also had a minor tear on the T-top repaired.

Oh, also made up new stainless guy wire thingys for the T-Top and neatened up some cables with shrink tube this afternoon.

Making sure we're all sorted for Sordies...

Installed my new VHF radio and Garmin chartplotter/fishfinder over the weekend and attempted to fix my slow leak on the pontoons. Seems like it worked so far...

Then bought some new fishing gear for us to use when we get started fishing and now just to get the boat resurveyed and upped from 1NM to 5NM :-D
