Hahahaha Greg, he did mention when I saw him on my recent Durban visit that if he sold 5 boats that week Mama would let him go let his hair down at the RWC  :hyst: I guess he made the sales  (clap)

I bought some trolling holders and a made a trolling board. Fixed it to our boat on Saturday and also made some bungees.

Installed the radio's antenna and fixed some leaks. Now time to go and at last get those fish.

When I got home last time my boat was in a mess, Starlings had got into the boat shed and havoc prevailed. They had decorated my boat from top to bottom....

.... it was just...  :turd :turd :turd :turd .... everywhere.

I had the boat polished when I put on the new motors just on 18 months ago. To be honest it was expensive and the boat looked no different which did not please me. To add to the insult both myself and my neighbour (another Magnum - "Salti") had our motors treated with silicone shield - what a mess. Both our motors looked like crap ( His Yammies and my Zukes). The guy who did it blamed it on the salt on the motors (err right - mine were out the box and had NEVER been on the water!). The motors had what looked like small water droplet stains all over them and NOTHING could get it off. I tried all the soaps you could think of and solvents and tons of elbow grease - nada.

Paul got a guy in to polish his boat which is newer than mine, but an whole lot of years and it looked awesome - The guy also polished the motors and they look like new. So it was a no brainer. Get mine done. I stripped off the stickers/decal and rubbing strip and paid the guy to come in as do it - it took 4 days and my boat looks like new - I am blown away.

some pics below...

I now still need to replace the decals (already printed),carpets, seat covers and rubbing strips and then good to go for Summer!!! The boat is mechanically in good shape with new motors and much maintenance, but now she also looks the part. Just the cosmetics needed to be seen to and the water transport will again be good as new... hopefully the Marlin will again no longer be shy and embarrassed to be near the boat... :hnthnt:

Cool... thanks bud. Does he go back into the can once he's finished polishing... I don't want an annoying little crew member who's inappropriately dressed on board for a fishing trip.
