7.2 H Bass rod that can cast 1oz with a 3000 spinning reel and 10lb braid
Thanks MikeI will look into thatI can then while my Big Bait Rod is in the rod holder on the beach =play around in the deep water channel with the dropshot stuff. Can be lots of fun I think.Carlos}<(((*>
Yes and use it from the boat, perhaps a slightly heavier set up with 15lb will work
Thanks MikeGreat idea and then something new to try out at my spot}<(((*>
I am definitely bringing tackle and lures to try this out at your spot! It is a lot of fun, and very rewarding too.
which line exactly do u recommend? i have a daiwa exceller 4000.thanks
For the Santa Maria area, defintely get yourself some Blue Pepper Neon and Anchovy colour Jerk Shads, for some reason these colours really fire the fish up as opposed to the brighter less natural colours... 5 and 7 inchAlso get some smelt colours in the smaller 3 inch sizes for smaller inshore species ( greenspots, bigeyes, blacktips etc )Like FA, I love blue neon/pearl for plastics, that will take most species, so if you stick closely with these colours, you'll be sorted. The McCarthy range is awesome, nice and tough, locally made, and super well priced and perfect for pelagics and Kingies etc. Be sure to pack a few packs of Gulps though too, as these can prove more effective on bottomfish etc due to their scenting/flavour.
Thanks AndreLike you can see here - myself and Ernest will be getting into fishing from the beach at Santa Maria this season. All new stuff for us.Best regardsand have a nice eveningCarlos}<(((*>
