..Mornings Folks ..well , well..I am always decrying conditions , conditions ....and this AM my thoeries were once again proven spot on!!!...Although the baro had dropped a tad BUT was still sitting at a good Hpk...the water was a t 19 and clean and clear ...Also no surge and the kobbies were on line from throw ONE!!!...A VERY good morning indeed!!!...

Notice how that 7/0 short shank is firmly in the corner...just where you want it!!

Mornings East Coasters....as I write this we have a front that is approaching and PE has already been "frosted" over and Im sure by this arvie we will have that west come howling through with some ice on its wings!!!
[/color][/size]And as you can see on the synoptic we aint gonna duck this one this time!!![/font]
[/color][/size]Well ...what does that spell for us this weekend as far as fishing goes....firstly , lets hope this front and the big one behind that high will push in some cooler water from the roaring 40,s and we get to see a decent showing of sardines this year as it looking less and less likely we will see a decent showing....[/font]
Well , onto this weekend and tomorrow you have a nice early am outgoing tide to a low at 08h15 and on Sunday at 09h00 ...also remember Folks , we are on a dark moon spring and while the Jikeleza deep water points are very favourable with these tides , please be aware of the spring push when that tide turns....
NOW....from later this evening this west will probably get up to a rate of knots and will be peaking out at around 45 plus kph tomorrow AM....two spots come to mind that are fairly sheltered with a heavy west and that would be Glen gariff and kwelerga on the inside...also Queensberry could be an option...
The water temp is around 18 and please keep in mind there is a strong ground swell predicted with an inshore swell of between 8 to 10 foot.....sea colour looks good and should improve as the west puffs...
NOW...once that front passes and that barometer turns and begins to rise , Sunday AM dawns with fairly light NW wind and soon changes to a stiffish SE later in the morning ...So , the window will be from early AM Sunday till around 11h00
This past week has been quiet and even shad reports have quietened down , BUT lets hope we get some fishing in this weekend...

[size=78%]Mornings East Coasters…well its been a few chilly mornings and one bergy day this week….we are in for[/size][/size][size=78%] [/size][/size][size=78%]another chillsom weekend and that cold front is hitting CT as we speak…[/size]
Still no sign of REAL sardine activity and the odd smallish bait balls have been spotted off PE and then along the Wild Coast into the KZN South Coast , but , many of thes dive charter groups that are out almost every day say that the big shoal is off way into the deep blue as there the water is cooler …
That being as it is , our fish along our coast still have to eat and we will hope this weekend they want to eat our baits and lures….
We on a nip tide this weekend and tomorrow you have an AM high at 06h45 and on Sunday a high at 07h15…swell is around the 4 to 6 foot range and no surge or wash expected…water temp is at a balmy 18 and the colour is clean and clear…
On the catching front its been pretty quiet and once again maybe the odd fish has come out and the fisherman are on a low profile due to all the recent shad activity , although this has also gone quiet as Ive seen hardly any activity of late along the Gonubie Point area…
Spots to look out for tomorrow as the west will come howling through . would be GlenGariff , Queensberry and also Cintsa Point as the tide gets lower ..these three spots you will have the wind behind you …Sunday AM will dawn with very light wind until around 12h00 and then as that high ridges in the beastly eastly will puff away…

So Folks , the conditions don’t look too bad and always remember to watch the water and stay safe.

Mornings Folks....well its with a rather "bruised" and embaressed ego I write this today....Yesterday my son and I dodged a bullet..

We , with my two brother in laws and the one son , did a trippie out to the Sunshine coast around the Kidds Beach/Palm springs area at a small river mouth called Ncera...and just a few 100 meters down the wa is another spot called leonards which is a fairly deep water point.....NOW...I wanted to get to Ncera as the formation off the rocks into the mouth area just scream kob!!!.

We walk the short walk past Leonards to Ncera and my brother in law says ...Nope , the water looks a bit heavy and they went back to Leonards..

My son and I satyed and without a hesitation hopped up onto the rocks where I normally throw off.....everything looked fine and after a few throws my son hooked up just in fron and I said ...lets tie the line onto a rock and we get the spoon once the tide has gone out a bit..

As Im doing the tying ...he calls...wave....as I look up here is a 4 footer about to smack us in the head ...we get washed off , fortunately into a deep gutter behind the rocks we were standing on and hat ..glasses go missing and we are drenched with the odd scratch here and there ....no broken bones OR rods and reels BUT me angry at not following my own advice about watching the water FIRST,,,then get onto the rocks.....an hour later we go back and my son actually finds my glasses ...so all ended well BUT could have been a VERY negative outcome....

Mornings East Coasters , as I write this a nice looking front has hit CT and we should feel the affects of it later on today , the north wester we experiencing at the moment is fro the rear end of the high that has just passed and temperatures should drop from this arvie on into the weekend....the approaching front son close behind this retreating high , indicates a bit of rain and heres hoping we get some as we surely do need it...[/size]Well , onto this weekends fishing and we are moving into a bright moon spring towards next week and while big seas are not predicted ,,PLEASE be alert when at the waters edge ..[/font]
Tomorrow as that cold front settles in we will have a rather stiff west for most of the day tomorrow , BUT...fortunately our Jikeleza has a few spots that can be fished quite comfortably in a stiff west
Glengariff , Queensberry , Cintsa point are three that come to mind and we also have nice early AM outgoing tides ....tomorrow you have a low at 07h50 and on Sunday at 08h30
There is a 4 to 6 foot swell running with a shore line of around 3 t 5 foot...when fishing at these low tide spots , be aware of the turn of the tide and as it starts to push...
Catches have been quiet and even the local Gonubie blues fisherman have been scarce along the coast here...
As to the sardines , they too have not made a significant showing and the water has been too warm for their liking..
This being said , the conditions dont look too bad for Sunday AM as that barometer starts to climb and Sunday AM will have light variable wind until around 10h00 when the beastly eastly will start to puff as that front goes by...

Oh yes Gareth...water is looking quite good actually...tomorrow that west will be a bit stiff so i will go for an early AM surf and then fish hard for 4 hours early Sunday AM before that beastly east gets ups....
