shimano Bullseye Xt
« on: April 08, 2012, 11:48:47 AM »
hie gents i discovered this reel a year ago. tried everything in my power to get Rapala VMC to bring it in . i was promised feedback two months ago but alas notuing. they were promising us five reels.to test and give full reports on them. sadly. they dont seem to take advice from die hard fisherman. but would.rather.listen to.one who.has.millions.and promise them good sales. i saying so The infamous Barry has managed to get one and used it with succes at he nationals. hopefully soon to hit our shelves but u can imagine paying seriuos dough cause the agents will undoubtedly be Bassil Mannings. if any of yoh have contacts in the east that can help me bring one or a few in please.let me know.  Cause clearly the customer in his case means NOTHING¡!!!!!!

??? Bit of a harsh statement!! What Rapala VMC (the agent) do with their reels really has nothing to do with Basil Manning, (the retailer)?!?! Why bring Barry's name into it?!

Sometimes unfortunately it seems that certain model reels target only certain parts of the world.

Unfortunately it appears the Bullseye is only distributed in the Far East and Australasia.

Sort of impossible to bring every reel to every part of the world. USA and Europe also dont have this reel but so many other top reels to choose from.

nothing against Barry personally. just kinda.feeling left out of tye loop with something that u discovered is swak. I was promised feedback atleast . since my conversation with them in jan this year i have received nothing not even an sms. then you hear via the grape vine that its been tested by Barry and and and .. enough to piss anyone off . it could have been piet pompies for all i care its the principle im disturbed about and the decency to say " Thanks for the info we must however use an agent from the.local market to prove or disprove a new.product. other than make empty promises to the people who are infact their bread and butter!

Hi, if you want the reel why do you not order it direct from the retailer that stocks them?

You cannot expect a suppler to import a 100 or so reels because one person wants one.

If, say, Tommo was chosen to test the reel would you be as upset as you are now?

Quite a few strong words there... you need to vent I understand that but doing it here the way you did is not on.

gents i think u are all missing the point i said before it could be piet pompies it.does not matter who test the reels. the market for them.here in south africa is definately more than one person. if you were a strong supporter of their business dont you think they should have some decency.to give you feedback since they did.not even know.of the specific reel. i had to give them links so they could see what im talking about pictures ect. and after a couple of months i received a flat ignore. one would.have thought with he advent of grinder fishing and the advancement of rock and surf they would get what the fraternity requires ...... example. why would you sell mutton bunnies in Ventersdorp twenty years ago. I eesearched the item.brought it to their attention and then marooned !!!. Now if you cant understand that . ........... This industry is huge . the price we.pay for.equipment is.not a.joke anymore. by.far.it has become.one of the most expensive sport. all im asking is.for.the companies.that we support to be mmmmmmhhhh more principled to.the patrons who support their brand is that too.much.to.ask.for.. man even an sms.would have sufficed!

this post was not to dig at anyone. (mr whareham) i have respected him and his ability to angle for many years. The prices we would.pay at different dealers also vary incredibly and its no.secret who are the.expensive ones. these.that cater for.the above average customers. and then there are those that cater for the masses. who in this country are below ur average pay line but still enjoy the sport like any other. we have little control.on our markets and unfortunately thats nothing we can do about it. i say again unfortunately. why should there be such a.vast difference in price. so to come back to my original statement that u guys find.offensive. and in protection of the above mentioned. please find out why we dont receive certain models ect ect ect. cause im clearly missing something here. some decency and principle is all.i asked for which in the form of an email or sms would cost nothing more than R2!

Guys hang on here.
Don you have a point their. I would have been a bit mif about them not comming back to me about the info as well and you have every right to voice your opinions bud.
Companies like Shimano dont bring in every reel they make to SA. Maybe the reel was not made for our conditions. Companies like them also have their agents in the country that they have to look after. And one of them is most certainly Bassil Manning.
I also get the feeling that tackle companies are making money of us fisher man at an alarming raight. Other thing is that SA is not the first country that guys like Shimano and Daiwa think of when they send out new tackle. The US market is by far much bigger then us and I am sorry to say that SA will always be at the back of the list.

Word on the street in Natal, is that a few guys are already using the Bulleyes, and will be on the shelves by next month end.Apparently expect to pay R4500 upwards
There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

Hi Angler1 .... my knowledge of VMC is that David is in the reel repair and service workshop. You should be speaking to Renesh, Grant or Mark regarding these things.
