If I'm around this week I can get one and post to you ?

Hi Homie,

Thanks for the gesture  :appr:

If Mia's sells it I can look for it at Mia's Middelburg
Can get it on ebay for 18USD + 4USD shipping.
Maybe you can get some prices to compare.

Would like to hear from somebody using  and approving of the lure before spending.
Maria is known for producing quality lures though.

Looking for info on casting performance - into the wind as well - does it "fly" tru - or does it start to wobble?

I have used them and they are awesome! There is a 18 and a 31 gram model. I have both but have hardly used the 18 gram lure.

I have caught bonito, aussie salmon, yellowtail kingfish, striped tuna, tailor/shad all from the shore on them!

They cast really well and they need to be worked pretty quickly for the best action.

An alternative to the Duplex are the Tacklehouse Flitz lures. These come is 3 sizes 24, 42 and 75grams

Ja had alook at their website this morning. I must say they are a bit heavy on the pocket and the paint job does not seem to last to long.

Had a look at Bassil Manning they have them, but their is none of the colour of the lure in the fishes mouth. They were about R148-00.

These look like exact replicas, and they are going for R60.

Hi Jaen - it's been awhile since we last spoke!  Thoughts are with you bud! Been there.

On this one, replicas may look the same........BUT?

Just got back from China Fish 2102 where we could buy replicas of the "Heru Wahoo" Renaissance Pink, Blue and Green!!!!. Price was US $5.00 per lure. In fact, there are many of these currently floating around the market in South Africa. not sure what they are selling for, but if anyone has purchased a few - there is your benchmark.

A FRACTION of the ACTUAL cost of the REAL thing.

Back to the "But" - this is the bit I LOVE!!!!

PERFORMANCE!!!!!

Looking at pictures of fish caught on the genuine item! Thank heavens, the real deal still supercedes the "replica" otherwise it would eliminate the original developers from the mix!

If that ever happens.... there would be nothing to replicate!

True but bite me has a reputation for catching s lot of fish and they are established brand. maybe I shiyls not have used the word replica in this instance. I meant similar sized divinh minnows. the bite me minnows are great quality too.

Regarding the wahoo rip offs, Im sure the chinese has copied just about everything out there. but like you said, just not the same as the real mccoy

While "googling" another heavy hard body lure (Duo Larus) I found this South African site that sells the Tacklehouse Flitz lures as well as the Duo Larus and another weighted hard body called the Souls Bomber.

No Maria Duplex though.

http://www.lureshop.co.za

Anyone here used the Duo Larus?

I use them and on every cast at the moment land a shad. The blue/white coloured one is "deadly". Both the Kingfisher as well as Basil Manning in Springfield Park sell them for R145.00. Take care the hooks are really sharp. On 2 different outing I've had the misfortune of getting the top trebble through my finger. Tried to replace them with single hooks, but this impairs the wobble of the lure and the fish leave it alone.
Proberly the best lure in my tackle box at the moment.

If you view the thread posted by Fritz with the photo of the 3 Duplex minows, I find the one on the extreme right hand side of the photo, the bluish coloured one is the one I presently use.
Chat to Fritz, he is a very accomplished angler both in rock & surf as well as Kayak angling. He could proberly give you some valuable tips on these Duplex Minows.

PH, cuzzi you've been given the wrong one. Take it back. They have the correct ones, otherwise go to Kingfisher. The one that is doing the damage at the moment is the blue coloured one exactly on the right hand side of the picture posted by Fritz. I'll be down at the club tomorrow at"sparrow f....t" Check out mine. These lures are packed with a clear front, and a yellow coloured cardboard back. They are brought in from Japan. :clfoto: Suggest you get down there early as well. South Beach Tidal Pool will be like West Street on a Saturday month end morning. Snoek are comming out, and with the small chop on the water, this could be the place to be.
