So... Launched tday at public slipway as there were no tractor drivers at dsbc, headed out towards harbour mouth and before i could even think about radioing port controll i found muself doing a big u turn back into the bay...sea was on its head! So fished around the bay a bit, anyone rlse found themselves doing this today?
To fish or not to fish... Is that even a question

Saw the sea conditions on Tuesday afternoon and decided a sleep in would be the better option.

So we got the boat back on the water Saturday. Denzil Kieran and myself. Managed to get some bait pretty easily and went out to the deep wrecks to try for a Bek. The showing were not good and after a couple of down at 139m we gave up and decided to go see if we could find some bottom fish in the shallower marks.
We managed a couple of nice fish so good to be back on the water again. Kieran caught a very nice catface and lost a real bus. Still has to perfect his back winding when you get a proper fish on with the KP, but he is getting there.

Nice pics DB. There are a lot of whales around. We had a couple really close to us a few times.

Also fished Saturday and managed a few nice sized rubber lips, the whales were harassing us on the 50m mark and we eventually had to leave, three times it followed us with its calf, they came as close as 15m to the boat so I decided to move.

Well after catching a few nice bottoms on Saturday and Tuesday being the holiday we decided to try our luck again.
Woke up and the wind was puffing a bit still and the sea did not look so we decided to do a later launch.
Eventually launched at about 9:30 and struggled for bait, only seemed to be shad around.
Went bottom fishing and caught a few fish. Kieran caught a really nice Five fingers, have never seen them this big before.
Anyway was nice to be out on the water again.
