Been a bit busy lately but we fished the DSBC junior comp. The sea was very lumpy early so we fished close. Sea started to settle so decided to run down to Toti. Fishing was hard but caught a couple of nice bottoms. Kieran caught his first Yellowbelly but it came up 5cm short just 55cm, Was a very nice fish. I fished on a friends boat as our boat is off the water again. He had hopes that I would put his son on a proper fish. Anyway things turned out like he hoped and his son Josh caught his first YFT, That is the reason I fish, Josh was so happy and the smile so big.

Well Kieran got selected to fish for DSBC juniors at the Mapalane Junior interclub this last weekend.
I Drove him up on the Friday evening and met up with his 2 team mates Luke and Chad.
At the briefing they said it was one of the best supported they had with 16 Teams fishing.
DSBC were fishing on Hilton the Commodores boat and it was Kierans first surf launch and could see he was nervous, Anyway they had a great launch and off they went. Left me sitting on the beach waiting for the 14:00 lines up and beaching. They were the last boat to beach and when I spotted them could see the flags flying showing they had caught a sail fish.Kieran could not contain himself and jumped off the boat telling me he had caught a Sailfish. They estimated the fish at 35kg and took the little man an hour and five minutes to land. A great achievement for a 10 year old. Shame he was so Happy. Chad had also caught a kingfish so they were in the running for first place.
Day 2 lines up was 13:00 and when they beached I new they had done well, Luke had caught 2 Couta and a YFT and Chad A YFT so they had done well on both days and ended up coming first overall. They each received a really nice trophy. Kieran went to sleep with it lol.
The camera with the pic of Kierans Sailie had water on and the lens and are not the best and I am waiting to get them from Hilton and shall post them when I receive them.

Fantastic Anthony, you must be a very proud father.

Credit must also be given to Hilton for his good skippering and putting the young men on their fish.  (clap) :win:

Hopefully after all the rains and some rivers breaking their banks we may see an improvement in the fishing  :dunno: :dunno:
