Halfbeaked garfish

This interesting catch was made off Inhaca island. The fish smashed the lure hard, and seemd to have no impediment to feeding with half its mouth missing.

Those gars are really aggressive... Sometimes we see them by the 1000's around Baixo Danae...

Oh well nico... I thought I'd recognized one of those buggers...  w;k
 
Those things attack rapalas, perfectly rigged halbeaks on illander seastars with a bird, large konas... anything that moves!
 
Good stripbaits! I heard they're quite good to eat... anyone ever tried it?
