Past weekend fishing
« on: July 18, 2011, 12:11:11 PM »
So Saturday i decide to take my two sons to Milnerton lagoon to pump prawn as this was our first experience and boy oh boy did they have fun catching prawns.
After that we went on home to have a bit lunch and of to the beach to try our luck at getting the line wet.
Went to derdesteen not a fisherman in site drove off to the next beach i think it was haakgat? not sure. There were plenty of fisherman around asked the guys were the fish on the bite answers came back no.

So any way my son and decide lets try it out. About an hour went past nothing.
Looked around a few guys remained, next my son says he thinks he has something on ( baring in mind he is only 9 yrs of age) so he reels in
and on the bank something was hooked. the wave crash over the fish and he shouts ah i've lost it he carries on to reel in we both look at each other to our surprise  a 20cm  :blktl:   i was never so proud of him in that moment the only little chap to take anything out all those blokes amazing we released the little fish to try another time

we try again this weekend if weather permits. :tite  everybody.

Well done to yr son & the proud DAD - Hopefully he's hooked on fishing & seeking a new PB with the  :blktl:   .

Its so gr8 to hear that our children still follow in our steps & participate in a healthy sport  :fshn:  ......its clean, no fights  :+  (besides the red bait smell at times    :hehe: :hehe: ) , rewarding -  fshg ,  educational in many aspects , & can be done by the whole family  :clwn :sshine:
Hopefully dad inspires the boys to contribute to the forum - I personally feel that we need more youth to be active with this sport and contribute positively on the forum.
