Maphelane accomodation

Hi Gents
 
can we please discuss accomodation at Maphelane as i see there has not been any discusion yet.
i know that there is log cabins
i do know that there is camp sites, but it seems, that the camp sites don't have any electricity.
if decided to stay at camp sites, which do you guys recommend?
when making bookings, do 1 still phone pietermaritzburg for bookings?

great having the pricelist.
but still your views on either camping and/ or the log cabins is still needed

get them to fax you the camp site layout  as there are a couple of good sites and the rest are just next to the road. The bogs are rough and run down the water is allways brown and you must not drink the water.  otherwise have had many a good time there.  they are busy renavating the camp site at vidal and it is looking much better so who knows maby maphelane will also get a coat of paint. out of season you can allmost have the place to yourself during the week. weekends are normally busy

I think that the nicer camps are the ones on the top right near the beach easy and quick walk - my folks camped in number 14 for about 15 consecutive years.
