i can do you one of these at R199 and we use  hot plastic injection moulding and 4 self tappers to screw to deck

Why use self tappers, small rivets are better?  :shk

on the more serious side of things a poorly made chair can be very dangerous if the pedistool brakes and chair falls over you still clipped to the rod you could be in the poo

To make the picture clearer, I have most the materials and want to make it myself, I cannot afford R8000.00 for a chair.

hmmm not sure if Rory is going to be overly keen to assist here seeing that it is his business?

But what about something like this in conjuction with the kidney strap of a Black magic, or shoulder harness? As I understand it you are only 50w tackle so they dont share the weight of the 80w's? And as most of your rods cater for stand-up and are shorter you can get the angler up quickly and moved should the line be near the props etcs as you dont have the clearance of the longer chair rods?

or even a couple of chair gimbals bolted to your coffin hatch??

Shag, i had thought along the same lines, and could not remember where I had seen them. Clip those under the hatch seat whereever you want the people and you have a char of sorts.

No, I think the battle station is better.

The battle station image is deceiving as to how it works, I made a test and actually it is very effective and can turn to fight the fish, the brace is thigh high and work very similar to stand up where you have a brace around your buttocks and then lean your weight into it.

But I want a chair, I do think this is the best solution.

Now to make one.....

Do you have a fixed coffin hatch or removable one
