getting youir boat certified "sea worthy"

can we discuss, getting your boat sea worthy here.
what is needed as in safety equipment and all relevant aspects.

Ah..... Cam Mundy beat me to it www.samsa.org has all the info regarding all aspects of boating from freshwater to off-shore , all the various catergories and saftey equipment etc it is quite a lot to go through and is downloadable in pdf format as well, im sure all the off-shore guys will climb in and help you out if you get stuck ....  (clap)  congrats on the boat and good luck.

Cam, i will look at the website, what is the going rate when a boat is taken to a boat shop that states they do
registering of boat etc.

Don't take it to the shop, you are most likely to get smoked. Do it yourself.

SS if you need help getting your gear together and having the seworthy done speak to my brother he can order the flares and other kit for you and doesn't charge the world we can also have your inspection and certification done for you here in the vaal triangle which isn't far from you.

Guys

went by Nigel Boat and Camping and got a list of safety equipment needed for Category C an D.

Obviously i do not need all equipment but will post the complete list here, for everyone to see.
