Jaen, as dit nie werk nie sal niks anders werk nie.

True Toppie, but you know what really pisses me off, when guys go to these FADS and pull these 1kg -3kg dorries by the boat load. I know of a very established charter  (L....)that does exactly that. Recently during the Durban Marlin comp he was seen doing it again. I have zero respect for guys like that.

FADS is a discussion all on its own..but glad you like the flashers :-)

I've been fishing long enough to see what swims out there. I would never get into that water, not even witha speargun :-)

Shees, I don't know buddy, I've only used them when diving, but they certainly do bring in the fish - veral daai spoedvraat, wahoo. Would be very interested to hear how it goes, but I guess things like this need a lot of fishing with and without to see if it works.

The best spearing ones are long flat metal plates with a spiral twist in them as you have a constant running flash. a bunch of these in a line and you have a school of fish feeding on the surface.

Your homemade jobbies certainly look the business!

thanks, didn't have time to get proper ss ones made.

biggest issue I see is deploying them and getting them out of the water when a fish is on. Might be troublesome.
Will also first check the legality at Vidal. These days you never know

If they are not Jack Parrow CD's then I am afraid that they simply will not work, also do not forget to get that loooooooooooong cap as you pass Boksburg on your way to the coast.

I have tried similar in the past, and it just becomes a nuicence causing hassles and does not help.

Jean, thats not the only one, there are many that take the tiny dollies by the boat load, and there are many that murder the little shad in winter. So sad, and I see it all the time, I know who it is but nothing can be done about it. Whats worse is the amount of Marlin & Sails
For my operation - I am legit, dont't take baby dollies, undersize fish etc and there are many species that are 100% C&R and is a condition of my charter, not the clients choice, all Bills, Kings, Ambers, very large bottoms.
Basically we keep, Dorado, YFT, Couta, Snoek, Hoo, Geelbek, Daga and Med. Bottoms.
I will lead by example.

..and you will reap the benefit Mike. Unfortunately capt Ali had to be witness to this senseless killing of dorado and almost got into a tangle about it. People should know who and what they are chartering.

I hope I will live to see the benefits, but yes what Capt. Ali saw happens a lot more than you want to think, and by the way many of those dollies are only about 500gr.
