Shimano Torium 30
« on: June 10, 2022, 08:00:32 AM »
Hello Ultimate Anglers.
I've got a Shimano Torium 30 for free.
On the drive shaft there is no hole for a click pin or spring so this Toruim is without it.
There is also no drag spring washers on this reel - Is there any Shimano Toruim reels that is without spring washers ? The drag is still working perfect.
One of the drag washers is also cracked, no problem at all with the drag system so far.
One small problem I had is one of the pillars where the spring working with the pion gear was broken.
I rebuild this pillar up with Q bond.
The yolk plate operating the springs is working fine. ( I had to sandpaper the pillar down till the pinion gear can move freely up and down.
Here is some of the images where I was busy rebuilding the pillar.
The reel cast smoothly.
I also made a home made spring to work on the anti reverse pawl, there was a rubber inserted instead of a spring which I removed.
The anti reverse operation is much smoother now.
Here is some of the images where i restored the pillar
Thanks
Henry

Nice work. It's always satisfying to fix something up and to make it work.

Nice job Henry.

The "ART" of fixing things has died years ago :-(

People rather buy new stuff than fixing broken stuff...........so sad
