Any wind with some south in it cleans the water. Sounds like wurm fishing to me. Soft baits around sunset and during the night.

Have you tried spinning for Shad / Elf? They usually don't mind the clean water. If all else fails, go snorkling and explore the reefs to see where the fish are hiding. An added bonus is you will be able to get loads of lost sinkers.  :tite

Thanks guys, have thrown my arms off with lures so far...

So I did a 5km walk today to look for some good water, the North West was blowing and actually brought some colour, washed up some sand and got the water all frothy... Best day for surf fishing so far! So I went to one of my favourite spots and casted into a hole that is there... It wasnt long and I got my first hook up, hook popped a few seconds into the fight  :-( second throw and my dreams came true, FINALLY a Kob. A Silver Kob pushing a kilogram, very fat fish and felt quite heavy, but a Kob none the less  :happ: :happ: :happ: really chuffed.

Now the fishing starts  :hnthnt:

Welcome to the E.Cape mid summer... Damn that is howling. Good one on the cob.
Forgive me Father for I have spinned... It's been three weeks since my last cob session.

It feels much more than 50 kmh here in PE!

The sea is on its head.

This is that raging sea that Tony wrote about.

Yip used to a few gusts every now and then here lol.

Spoke to a mate of mine who is a deep sea angler here, he said the wind today is actually 69 km/h with gusts up to 90 km/h  :shk :shk :shk

Hope the wind and sea calm down for you, and give you more fishing time. It's never great when you have this time away planned in your mind, thinking you are going to get lots of fishing under the belt, and then the weather throws a spanner in the works!

Thanks Ian, for the time being I need to buy another head lamp and fish at night when everything is calmer and just hope a sinker sits... Went for a few throws at 12 last night and got washed all over the place... 2.5km walk for an hour of getting washed and letting seaweed mess up my traces...

Gotta keep trying!

Hear there is a warning out for the up coming spring tide. Watch out and be save.
