hey chaps my gran gave me this split cane rod, she grew up in England and learnt to fly fish there! this rod is at least 50 years old according to her. anyone know anything about it? has no writing on it and looks to be in good nick

That looks like the emblem for gladding sealy rods. If you say is more than 50 years old, it's Edgar sealy. One and the same company,  but changed names somewhere in the seventies. Original agate guides, and looks like it's in good nick. Nice collector's item. Hang on to it

Very nice rod. Definitely an investment piece.

I have a 1954 Hardy Polokana, 6wt, also in very good nick. Bought it for an investment, have I fished it ? Hell yes. Very slow action and damned heavy compared to the carbon composites of today. But it did the land the fish. w;k
If we caught fish on every trip, it would be called " Catching". We don't, and that's why it's called "Fishing".
