Author Topic: EZKZN Sodwana campsite dangers (Read 8931 times)

A friend sent me a warning this morning that violent crime is again happening in the Sodwana Parksboard campsite.

There have so far been two armed robberies in the camp this month. Of the first one, one of the victims is still in hospital.

The robbers armed with AK-47's, a shotgun and pistols last night robbed a campsite where jet-skiers are camping. One of the guy's was shot in the leg with the shotgun. His leg had to be amputated this morning.

With such a brazen and well armed gang roaming the area they could target any facility as most are only fenced with wire fences. The closest SAPS facility is too far away to react in such an event. Take care as it seems that matters will get worse before it gets better.

Surely something can be done to stop this, ???? You cannot go away on a holiday without talking an armed guard.

for the warning Toppie . if I am not mistaken we are prohibited from taking firearms into Sodwana . Kosi , Vidal etc. The criminals know this and are becoming increasingly brazen .

See it was at a private Lodge not in the main campsite and happened on past Friday evening.

My son is at Sodwana Bay Lodge at the moment and there they informed him of another similar incident that happened last week Wednesday.

Otherwise life goes on as normal at Sodwana. It's a small place, I am sure they will catch them.

Last time something like this happened in the main camp Ezemvelo brought in additional rangers and they actually shot and killed the burglar.

News from Sodwana is place is crawling with cops, new SAPS vehicles patrolling everywhere, and about 10 policemen even on the beach.

Sadly this is now a murder inquiry. Thys unfortunately passed away this evening, RIP and condolences to the family and friends.

I hope that justice prevails and these bastards are caught.

Always sad to bury someone so young, strange , youngsters normally pull through if they make the first day after surgery. Hope the thugs slip up and are caught soon,
