Fly fishing for Carp
« on: April 25, 2015, 01:16:37 PM »
HI,
For the fly fishing fanatics out there, Has anybody tried fly fishing for carp in the dams near Pretoria?

I have read a numerous articles and blogs but all seems to be applicable to shallow clean/sandy dams or "reservoirs" with large flats in the US but the majority of our dams are muddy and relatively deep. I am looking for dams in close proximity to Pretoria with large shallow areas where carp or schools of carp forage for food but easy assessable for walk and stalk.

Any assistance, tips or recommended dams will be appreciated.

You may have done this already but worthwhile asking the same question on FlyLoops forum - seem to be a helpful bunch of guys.
