Online Australian Stores
« on: March 15, 2015, 09:41:01 AM »
Hi guys - can anyone recommend an Australian online store that posts to South Africa -

Just placed a R10k order on Motackle to be told they don't post to SA - a pity as was able to find most of what I wanted in the one store - I tried to source some of it in Japan but it seems some of the lure ranges I wanted are Aus specific - mostly lures and a few other odds and ends - ecogear, austackle, ecooda, daiwa, tacklehouse, OSP, bassday, storm

Any help suggestions - much appreciated

Regards

Curt

Howzit Steve - hell ja - spent most of yesterday online ordering what I wanted - their webpage says overseas customers must email the order - then when I did they answered today they don't ship anywhere overseas yet - now the search starts again - got some stuff coming from japan but unfortunately the main things I wanted are only available in Oz

Hows the planning going for the trips - send me a pm

Not quite fishing related.........  But maybe you guys can direct me. It is not my intention to highjack either.

I am trying to get the "Frozen" dolls for my granddaughter and they are not available in SA. Tried online shopping from Amazon but they don't mail to SA. Do you guys know of a possible alternate online shop?

Maybe best option is to identify a friendly Saffer there, have it mailed to him and let him forward to you in SA.

Motakle not the cheapest , so you're doing yourself a favour .

I have on a regular basis order tackle from aus, but I have family over there.

If you have no other options ,best would be to ( if you know some one that side ) pay it from here ,let them receive it and post it to you , ask them to gift wrap it , and the description as a  ' gift'

That way you avoid taxes , but have to pay the connection for the postage .

No worries mate .

The really cool thing about the aus online stores that most of them , are very trust worthy , not only that , but when you buy online , the prices are lower than quoted on the website , because it's an online  deal .and differs from walk in shop prices . .c

I would have offered to get my fam to be your connection over there , but my sister are in papa new guinea .

If you don't come right, give me a shout. I'm back in Aus in May and returning to SA in June, still a long way away though...

xtc,

Replied to your thread on the "other forum" as well, but just to share with members here too:

Fish Head Tackle in Brisbane are absolutely fantastic... the owners Duncan and Janelle are FANATICAL anglers, and right at the for front of getting top end lures into the Aus market, in the Bream ( perch ) world, Aussie Bass, Murray Cod, Barramundi etc which relates well to our estuary gear, and jigging and popping of course... their service is superb, and their team ( Brett and Tom I've dealt with ) are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and like I said, their service is great..

www.fishhead.com.au definitely worth checking out..

The website alib listed can be trusted , that's one of the sites that give you ' unexpected ' discount on online orders .

No worries .
The ozziesare extremely paranoid about anything from south africa , the media on their side often  paints a picture that's very bleak .

Fish heads have a fantastic website , hope you get sorted .

Get them to prepare the parcel.

Then instruct a courier like DHL or Aramex to collect and ship to your address in SA.

I have done it a couple of times with Aramex from Aus to Saudi but its pricey

Have a look at the Aramex Global Shopper system, they have a special on at the moment, for $10-00 US you get lifetime membership, this gives you about 12 physical addresses around the world that you can ship to, ( I would assume that they are Aramex office addresses)  then they bring the parcel in for you and deliver it to you.

Correct,

I use the shop and ship facility Aramex provide.

But for a parcel pickup from the specific store you need to send them specific instructions.

They will quote and once you accept the quote they will start the proceedings.
