Hi, was there last in March.
There are a lot of locals fishing and netting at the point and at the ledge. When you go with the boat past the point you must be very care full, nets all over the place. They also spear and free dive with snorkels and goggles.
Also a lot of boats going out. They normally get a lot of reef fish from the boats, but also some nice cutas and tunas even sailies. They also caught a huge shark, and was cutting up the meat on the beach. Not sure where they fish, saw some of them at the wreck area, but not on the deep reefs where we normally fish.
Fishing was not good at all. May have been bad weather, but if you look at all the fish the locals catch each day (normally they catch better than us

), they also do this each day weather permitting. I think the locals fishing pressure may take its toll on Zavora.
I have never caught from the reef. Don't think there will be lots of fish left there. Also the reef normally not open, maybe spring low.
