Witch direction is the wind blowing now and what is forcasted for saterday. Wat is the water conditions at the moment?
Bubbleboy, that is a healthy collection of lures. We always fish with the quick release clips so we can change lures quickly. Alcocks sell those, they are really small clips and work really well. If we find that we are getting no action on a lure/s, we change and keep changing until something happens. Just an idea, if you are fishing the surf, look for other guys and maybe talk to them and see what they say. Some guys will offer you bad advice but some guys will tell you exactly what you are looking for on that spot where you are standing. Don't get discouraged, the more you ask, the more you learn. Your bucketlist is very do-able!

The wind directions is not very nice. Normally any wind with north in it is bad. South uselly makes the water very clean. With alot of west in the wind I will hit the surf at van Stadens. Walk in the Gamtoos direction. 4 to 5 kilometers in that direction use to be a lekker bank not to far out. Nice spot for low tide. Lots of spots befor you get to this spot that is always wurth a try. To get to sundays. Turn in at the petrol garage at Colchester. Drive around it and follow the road till you get at a boom. Think it is R60 per vehicle for a day. After you have entered the gate just carry on straight till you reach a dead end. Its about 3km. You will be close to the mouth. Over the dunes and of to the left. Don't waste you time there if the wind is not east. The second day east thing normally starts to happen. You can also cross the river with a rowboat and fish the other side of the mouth. This is called vanneriets.

I remember a few years ago , I was throwing Havocs for Kob with a couple of well known Anglers [ none of which will ever be online ] It was the days when ESA started way back . We parked in Jeffries at our spot got our rods of the bakkie tied on havocs , and saw the ESA brigade standing around ,they were giggling about our mission .back then it was strange to fish for Kob with lures , only a couple of EP guys has cracked it . One of the guys that fished with use lets just call him 'WB' was not keen on talking to them . Went we started to work the area with lures , soon WB went tight , next cast Tight again . WB then said look at them now . We looked and they were still standing in the parking lot , but Wesley the youngster of the lot ,got out the Binoculars and watching WB's every move , I was amazed by why this guys are not fishing . long story short don't over think man . you live in Lurefishing heaven , just check your knots and hooks and GOOI . I have said this , the first one is your hardest , and well after the first one you will get into the groove , you will soon figure out whats the story . I must have made 10 to 20 trips with the guys that taught me whilst they were catching I did not get anything , and one day BOOM . since then I have taken Kob on lures on in Struis and in Falsbay [ most people think the Kob don't eat lures in CPT , don't ask me why ] fish on Man !
Bru , I still have those stywe Lyne . Lol
