Hi Shivaan, mostly off a boat. Only the Yacht Mole produced from the side.

we did catch from the side around pelican island.
but, its not very accessible, and not really safe.

the area around Wilsons can also be productive, but we just dont really fish there.
we cannot wait for summer. been a cold dry spell, and the garrick havent really featured as expected. (YET....... we hope)

I think they more expensive in Jhb because they have to be heavier as you guys have to cast further to reach the sea!

Gavin I have no doubt that it will work - very nice slow action with a twitch, it should be good to bounce over sandbanks in the bay - believe it or not I caught a few shad on a similar one at the Caissons when fishing for bait a few years back.
