thanks LA looks like a while stocked shop

IC my current setup is 5/6 wt but im battling to get distance and accurate cast I know with nymphing long cast is not needed but I couldn't get the cast on the fish spotted a bit further away had to put a lot of effort into the cast without it going the distance  :dunno:

Do t worry about casting to jumping fish....
Rather concentrate on fishing the right areas, getting your flies in the zone and drivting the flies just right.

99.99999% of all the fish you will catch at the vaal is no more than a leader length away from you !

Fished the vaal yesterday with Rory and Christo just downstream from Parys. The normally quiet venue was chaos with at least 20 anglers on the water. Halve of which were walking the rapid fishing bait downstream. So in between dodging sinkers and river rafters good fish was caught. Christo only caught 3 fish but 3 beast yellows me and Rory caught our fair share with some big muddies in between.

Thanks for the fishing session chasps, as Martin said despite the carnage around us the fishing was good. Ettienne, Christo and myself were each taken out by an inflatable occupied by novice river rafters...to say the air was blue from choice expletive profanities would be a rather large understatement. I think somewhere there are still some ears burning  :corrct:

The good fishing on the Vaal continues as could be seen by the amount of people fishing, the venue we fished was just simply overcrowded. We started downstream from all the other guys in the waist to chest deep water and were into fish almost immediately. Flies that produced for me were BlingBling on the control and either unweighted Humpys Favourite or a Mustard caddis on the point or dropper. Well done to Hoochie for christening his new flyrod in style, and Martin's bus of a muddie, that's one of the biggest muddies I've seen anywhere period!

So myself and ET fished spot X very close to Vaal Hackle yesterday. Three weeks ago we fished the same venue and it were carnidge. So you can just imagine the joy arriving at the spot, and you are the only one there! Absolute Bliss.
Total tally for the day were 3 Yellows, 2 Muddies and a Barbel. ET fished his Tenkara and managed a Barbel and a Muddy before a bus Yellow snapped his rod.
Pictures to follow.
