So we departed joburg at around 10:00, short trip and we were on the water. It was a bit of a slow start, I landed a nice muddy on a San Juan worm.

After that I moved on to a shallow tributary with carp all over the place so I shortened the distance of my trike indicator and slowly crept up to the fish, dropped my fly down and I was on
After a long run and a hard fight I landed a nice 3.5kg carp on one of my hand tied flys, not sure what it called

Then we headed to deeper water and drifted some nymphs which proved successful and I landed a nice yellow on a Orange hot spot.

Sean landed 2 nice yellows but no photos. The sun started to go down and the yellows began tailing so I threw my Pheasant tailed Flashback nymph, that I ties previously, and let it drift over the rocks... and I was tight!!! Great fish to end the day!!!

Gavin those muddies must have given you quite a decent fight! and congrats with the carp as well.
That photo of the bent rod - I was fishing just a bit lower than that and I hooked a barbel!

Yeah Ive had a few take me on a 4wt, doesn't last very long. Would be cool to actually go out and target them on bigger flys and bigger tackle, there are some big boys in that river!!!

Good morning Chasps.
How about Erina on Sunday.
, before the rock snot gets too bad.
I will be there around 06:00.

If we caught fish on every trip, it would be called " Catching". We don't, and that's why it's called "Fishing".

Rory,Doc and I fished Erina on Sunday. It was overcast with a cool downstream breeze.
Water temp was 15, air temp was 13, visibility30 - 40 cms.
Doc hooked 3,all decent size mudies, + 2kg. Rory 1, and I 2. The snot was not as bad as expected.
Considering the cold front on Sat. not a bad day.
