Was lekka catching up again buddy
We ask a simple question and that is all we wish: Are fishermen all liars? Or do only liars fish?

You won't catch every fish you try for, but don't let that discourage you, because the best fisherman who ever lived can't do it either.

Hey Whalerider. That's the plan. Got a bunch of mates coming up that don't get together often so fishing is challenging but will be there to support the skins and bar.

Hope you will be there will be good to say hi! And apologies up front for the rowdy crowd :)

Cool man. Will do.

Haven't even decided where we are fishing yet. If I had to guess based on tides and swell...either suiderstrand trap or brandfontein. Maybe we bump into each other.

Good luck and tight lines!

Jy gaan dink Ek joke as jy die size ase sien , en die trieks. One things for sure, come with heavy tackle , ZERO chance of landing them on light to medium tackle . Some guys have been dusting off the 49 's .... be warned ...
turns and I , had a long chat about tackle , luck , skill and krakers , we agreed , that fishing much heavier , you might not catch as much , but you will stand a better chance of landing a true sea rhinosourous . I have already spooled one 20/40 with .55 and a 1.2 mm leader , no messing around .

Raining like mad now , sea is big , Lang been , with the moon .
Things could be a bit calmer over the weekend .

Saw Desmond , yesterday he braved ,the strong easterlies , the past week , and came short , we are thinking of going down maybe tonight ...

Got back on Friday night and wanted to get on the water so first thing Sat morning got the boat out and ran out of Struis a bit later than intended on 08.10.2016. Light wind and sea was calm with a small swell but a bit of residual bumps from previous days wind. We hit the 5 mile banks, Kromrug and Groot Sandkop... Nada. Water was warm with a brisk current and we saw plenty on the finder but no takes. We packed up and headed home before lunch. 1 katonkle for the day... Commercials recon a few more weeks before the yellowtail come on the bite... Some Kob in the shallows so we headed there on Sun and caught about 50 pen haaie and some rats and mice. Called it a day after a short trawl on the Sandkop and 5 mile. Plenty of humpbacks jumping and lurking about... Bird life was also good but no great shakes on the fish front.

Thursday looks like a possible Alphards day so will see if it holds out...

Lekker Kegan , looking forward to some missioning .

Still plenty of fish , bigSTeenbrasse and large Krakers , plenty of mullet , but they must have qualified in evading a thrownet. very very skittish , and very hard to get .

I saw MR Turns123 pulling into town earlier . but i do not know if we will gooi , as I have some family things today , and high is at nine tomorrow , and we need to fish the push , so a 4 o clock mission is the only way .

Some good in eds around , die boland scabs ,did  well over weeeknd , saw some pics of big bronzies on die plaat .

Bigger than usual fish for our area .

Currently things are looking promising for tomorrow and the weekend , couple of days after the spring tide is always a winner  , and the full moon was coupled by some nasty south easterlies , so the only bad thing about the situation is, that the swell is really big , and that the sandies will come in numbers .

Can I urge everybody , to not just dump the sandies ,  that they catch on a pile and leave them , what wrong with you guys ?? I have very little problem with taken one or two for shark bait, but blatant killing of these sandies are just not on .

If you have been on the plaat , Saturday or Sunday ( the past weekend)  and have lost something and can identify the item/s . I will get it back to you .

Strange when one is fishing for the pot sandys and barbel gets killed. When fishing competitive you will pray for them to bite on the quiet days. Fishing for the fun of the sport fish are fish. Yhen you don't care what you catch as long as it give a fight.

Thanks for the update, Lenny. I haven't been fishing for a while and would love to catch even a small Sandy. Disgusting behaviour of those idiots who leave them to die.  :unhap
