Dagse! I wil be in Struis from 27-30March. Cant wait to fish the area again. Wil mostly target in Eds and Cob on the plaat.

Last I fished the Plaat it was Nationals so we were alowed to drive on the beach. How far may I drive when I turn of at the plaat`s entrance?

HI Armand .
you have basically 3 access points .
You take the drive , to De mond , Park there and Pay your 40 bucks, you car is VERY safe there , only thing is , gates only open at 7 and close by 4 . Its still about an hours walk from there , STAY AWAY from the area when the swell is big .

2 die PLaat Parkinglot , its the 'dodgy parking lot'  of the 3 . You will not have problems if you don't leave valuables in you cabby .  This parking lot is a distance from the 'safe ' and third parking place .  but if you want to take a long walk this is the one  , If you are to freaked out to leave your cabby there , I am willing to go drop you guys there with my cabby , and collect again ...

3 Argunauta Park , seems to be the safest option , however theres always 'feet ' moving through there and I am more sceptic about parking there than at the Plaat parking lot .

Send me a PM , with your details , should you need anything , or any rock I can over turn for you .

Dankie man!

Right , the water temp is up .

But there's so much anchovies in the water , that it makes fishing tough .

This morn I went down to the harbour , to recycle and speak to the manne .

Low and behold , from die las to false deur loop there's thousands of bird working , and seal and dolphins  , I have seen plenty of birds working and the past two weeks they have been working , from deur loop to spook draai , but a bit deeper that this mornings birds .
Basicly these birds are working just outside casting distance , I am pretty sure it's anchovies that's getting hammerd  and the wind behind them you  might get some pulls later on from the harbour and die las .

Thanks guys, I was contemplating , should I share my misfortune , as I knew I was looking for trouble , I have been very lucky in the past landing a few on light stuff , this however was not your average Krakers , there must have been a shoal of them or it was the same one that was just hungry .

Very very disappointed , have been putting in some time to get a proper fish , and today was my day NOT . FFs

On the bright side its a perfect day no wind , the colour very very good , water temp up , despite the kob colour that crackers don't usually they were there . I think we're in for a good couple of weeks fishing ahead , experiences like this really breaksme , those that know me would know why . Aaarrrgggggg

Hereby your weekend update .

Today is a perfect windless morning , the past  3 days , the sea was really big , so it's good news for the areas and hole that's sanded up , I bet some good hole washes open , and red bait that's been very very scarce will wash up again from today .

I believe these conditions will turn on the fishing for sure .
With Exinox ( spelling) this has provento be very conducive to fish feeding , we have over the past couple of years always have had some proper catches and some strange catches , all and all a good time to fish IMO .

With the amount of baitfish around and in the shallows is slightly concerning as the fish have plenty of fresh food available .
I would always suggest live bait for two reasons .
1 live bait is sort of pecker proof , and there's plenty of them around too ,
2. You just can't compare , live bait to dead bait , 99% of the time your get more and better quality enquiries on Livies . Kolstert

Let's try again kolsterte , mullets and streepies are top Livies .

There's very good colour all around from die praat to suider strand and assuming lay beyond there too .

Some very nice working water rolling in all around too for the galjoen crowd .

I suspect that the good conditions might not last for the weekend , and a Boland comp happening .

I am stuffed with bait , and cru and my wheels are standing without petrol .

Happy hunting

Nada tony , those tail are gone ' comms are having a hard time with very bad catches and resorted to catching mackerels about 3 bins per boat with 1 bin geelbek with the odd geelstert . Don't know if they are gone for good , or it's just the water that's not right all and all very poor out at the back . The Innekommers have also left . Don't know whatgonnahappen with the tail bonanza .
