Sorry guys , I were damn busy , but made some time to fish too ...

Bad news for you guys fishing NATS , you will have WIND , so hang on to your teeth .

Rock and surf I good , the water is really warm . I managed a Grunter in the harbour , but to be honest , I have been fishing offshore , and not really fishing from the side , I am back in action again now March is a good time to fish .

Theres Big Grunters around , theres Elf , after the Gale Easterly , they will be in the Harbour , sun rise and sun set , and sometimes they come on the bite very late . Please guys please don't plunder when you have the opportunity on these Elf runs . you can legally keep 4 , at a minimum Size 30 CM .

Reports of large LEervis patrolling the surf and Brood , have been coin the rounds . This is agina an indication , that the water is very warm , maybe a bit too warm ...
The whole week theres strong wind Predicited , and the weekend looks good .
I have a SKippie , that might become a Sharkbait . Pretty keen as its a dam fresh one .
Konrad is coming next weekend for some Rock and Surf , We want to wet some lines .

I will soon give this thread some life again , with some tips ext .

Dagse! I wil be in Struis from 27-30March. Cant wait to fish the area again. Wil mostly target in Eds and Cob on the plaat.

Last I fished the Plaat it was Nationals so we were alowed to drive on the beach. How far may I drive when I turn of at the plaat`s entrance?

Sorry Armand, no driving on the beaches allowed at all. Even the A nationals that just finished allowed no driving. You will have to park either at the drive on area- risky - or park in Argonauta and voetslaan from there.

HI Armand .
you have basically 3 access points .
You take the drive , to De mond , Park there and Pay your 40 bucks, you car is VERY safe there , only thing is , gates only open at 7 and close by 4 . Its still about an hours walk from there , STAY AWAY from the area when the swell is big .

2 die PLaat Parkinglot , its the 'dodgy parking lot'  of the 3 . You will not have problems if you don't leave valuables in you cabby .  This parking lot is a distance from the 'safe ' and third parking place .  but if you want to take a long walk this is the one  , If you are to freaked out to leave your cabby there , I am willing to go drop you guys there with my cabby , and collect again ...

3 Argunauta Park , seems to be the safest option , however theres always 'feet ' moving through there and I am more sceptic about parking there than at the Plaat parking lot .

Send me a PM , with your details , should you need anything , or any rock I can over turn for you .

Guys so 7/10 invited me onboard his boat a 25 magnum .
We ran far to the Alphard banks , Its about 2 hour 30min  out /45 NM .

7/10 plan was to get some Marlin bait and troll around .
three quarters on route we saw giant patches of boiling water , we had a quick couple of casts on light spinning sticks [ peashooters ] Think either Rudolf of Ffrancios went tight .

Anyway , to cut a long story short , its easy to get distracted when you get these situations , but we had bigger fish to take for a boat ride . we reached the banks , big patches of boiling water small gas bottle YFT and SKippies , gives good account of them selves on light gear , and justthr right bait for MR SNAWIL .

We landed some good YFT all of us onboard , we had triple ups , double ups , topwater strikes you name it , we also bagged couple of braaisized Yellowtail , some on spoon by Rudolf /tony and Francios , I took a couple on the handline called ' bottleneck'

We got no enquiries on the marlin baits , we could have fished longer for them thought , but still a fantastic day out .

Tony and Co , jumped in the water and in a matter of 30 minutes speared some good class yellowtail , tony also took so pictures , which i really really hope he will post of mail me when he has the time .

Kealan and I was onboard , and I got a YFT on again , Kealan gaffed the fish , with very lil guidance , and insisted on removing the hook too . Any fish should be scared of this boy ....

Hereby a few pics

Hi Lenny
Which boat were you on? I was on OA2 - the BIG 82ft cat, and JEEZ did we have a ball!! We got plenty YFT, up to around 20kg, but our drift was too quick to target tail effectively on the pinnacles! We did manage plenty though, just a bit harder work than on a skiboat!
Dante's peak managed a 112kg Stripey that day. I'll do a full photo report later!

Thanks for the post Lenny... Been a bit crazy... Here some more pics... We took some tail and YFTs for the pot and they were awesome. I only managed to release a few small YFTs as I LOVE sashimi... Keelan had a ball thanks to Lenny and got got some nice gas bottles thanks to Haasie...

The biggest I caught was 12,5kg on a stick bait with a 14k stella on a 8ft exage. I would like to get one over 15kg but still eluding me but did manage a 21kg YFT on the same rig and it gave me a proper hiding. My arm is still sore.

Shot man, that's some awesome fish!! I got an 11kg tail on a Trevala ML - GREAT fun! At least you still have a Stella 14k... mine went swimming this weekend  Was throwing a Skipjack150, and mid-air, the bail-arm somehow clipped over, pulling the rod out of my hand  <: swr  PS: They sink quite fast!

Eish... Sorry to hear that Poenie... I will have a moments silence for your reel at prayer tonight.

I have had that happen a few times and I always try ensure that I lock the bail arm in position.... I can see how that can happen with a big stick bait or popper and lots of enthusiasm. Fortunately I normally just give the water a good slap in front of me and get a bit wet.

Moonshine can be collected I front of where Nostra use to be .

You'll need  sock with lokkies /chum in . And your pump .

On low tide , you drag the lokkies sock across the sand  , now you have to look for 2 black horns coming out from the sand , they will come up in your lokkies slick . Don't give up too easily , and don't leave the area where you have been chumming .

When you see those horns pump over them ' you have to be very very quick about it if they get the darkness from the pump over its horns they quikly disappear clever buggers. You will have to pump. 5 to. 8 times in the same hole . Sometime you can get your 5 in one hole . Never rinse them in fresh water .

Rock and surf there's some action , we got a biiiiiiiiiigggg fish yesterday and lost 3 more . I am keeping details off the forum .daai wiel gaan niemand draai .

The bad news is that the fish are all dik gevreet from anchovies . One can see the birds working from die las all the way around to spook draai , bout  300 to. 500 m out .
The colour is ALS fantastic looking , just a tad cold , but the kob likes it a lot . I would also assume daggies are around too with the cold water.
There's  elf they are one day on the next off .when does the season close.
It's about time that those bus wildeperd comes on the bitetoo
Some galjoen around, but crackers not ,maybe if the water temp rise agile a bit.

Will post more a bit later too much computers aaarrrggggg .

Poenie I have the right tackle for you ..... Lol
