Thanks David for the report !
Myself and Konrad blanked after , a 3 hour ordeal to get only 2 mullets . Those were in for 2 to tree hours in what seemed ideal kob conditions .

We fished , de mond the river itself today . Only baby fish , shame .  We had put out two livies , nada . Grunted also a no show . Did see 2 proper leeries , but they were not keen on eating any offerings . Pretty bumped . There was about thirty guy down to the surf . Most of them shark fisherman .

Wind swung , from Wednesday gale SE for 7 days .

@Whalerider , sorry Oom . They have been around , and actually thick , I was unsure about the Season , but previously its also happened , they are thick thick out of season , and as the season opens they are just gone .

But there are a few around , me and my dad must have caught a released 40 one morning , from the Harbour , 6 /7 weeks back , all nice sizers , ate anything , except a Surface lure ...

I met a guy , that I think you might know the weekend , Waleed . He got a nice Kob Friday night .

So I am gonna try to put up some spots , with some direction for you guys , feel fee to add your tips too.
I want to keep it short and sweet .

SPOT OF THE DAY !!!   Drum rolllllll......

DIE LAS .

Where : On the Western side of the Harbour wall , theres a small sandy bay , where the rocks start OPP the Harbour wall

The shallow A Frame reef of rocks running into the ocean , you will only be able to see this during a low tide . On the tip of this reef , thats where you fish . this is a low tide spot , resulting in large amounts of lead loses on high tide , and no fish .

When : Summer time , after /during a SE wind , swell must not be too big too . You might need to look theres a specific set of rocks and if you find them , your in there SWEET spot .

WHAT WILL EAT : a well known Cracker place , a well know Elf area , you get the ' blou Elwe' there  [ mainly the Elf you catch from there are bigger than the ones from the Harbour , Dunno why ] The Craker here tend to feed more on Red bait FRESH red bait , than Crabs , but crabs has taken their fair share of fish too , jir , you never know with a lekker Juicy Crab ...
Late Summer you get your Big Leervis , spinning would be the best option or casting live baits . Kob , Tjokkas / Tjokkas . This is also the area the guys have been very successful with flies and getting Kob on them , I saw a guys working the area last week with fly gear .

TIPS : if  your not sure where the place is look when the other guys go out there , or just look from the dune , you can see the channels running , if you not into loosing a bit of lead and some tackle this is not the place for you .
You will get wet , your window to get in the channel on low tide are about 4 hours tops , wear proper shoes , those rocks are slippery . on your way to the spot look for red bait pods .
DONT take 2 rods . one rod .This area does not get fished that hard because of the tight window and the foulness of the area . Die Las often produce PB's to guys putting in the time loosing the lead and getting wet .
Stay clear of the western side of the reef , its supper shallow there

Tackle : if the crackers are there , take heavy tackle , notting lighter than .45 line and .70 leader , its a foul place and Crakers know the better than you , you will have to hit and hold , make sure your tackle can handle it . notting out of the ordinary is needed . hooks from 6/0 to 8/0 would be fine , fish a 4 to 6 ounce bottle of spoon sinker .

On the spinning from , you will be fine with a 9 foot stick 20/30 lbs braid and a couple of 2 to 3 ounce lures .

Bad news , Or Bad luck .

I don't know , We fished really good looking water today , with a plethora , of baits ,but mainly Live Mullets , and Crabs . We Started at two Classified spots , Need to know basis only ....

Got nada there , had a leader fouled up , and lost a lead or Three .
We ended up after sunrise at die Brood , looking very promising , very promising . We could only manage 2 Mullets , so we each had a bait out , Konrad's on a Throw , and Mine on a Mono Slide trace .

What happened is , Konrad was fiddling to get a proper place for aPension pipe in the bricks , he for a minute left his mullet in a rocks pool behind him , and Mr Occy grabs him , Konrad had to fight the Occy , and evenuaslly got his Mullet back , bruised , but back . he Rerigged , and let Fly  .

Next moment , My rod dips , boing boing . zzzzzzz . Konrad tightes up , and after a decent tussle landed a Cowshark of 18 to 22 kg's Aprox . And Also a First Cow for Konrad . He landed it alone , and took some shots . WELL DONE .

The Brused  mullet did not last long before the rod screamed  , and Popped off , we had a few crabs , so the mission then when from live bait to , Crab , a Cracker hunting . we had 5 crabs , 2 fresh , 3 old . We tried 3 spots , Treid and tested spots  , and only got a quick on / of  from that .

we Recouped , I took a Power nap , and We got some more mullet , BINGO  7 good ones , those 25 cm jobbies . Again hats of to Konrad , for such a young small guy he MOERS a live bait far .  We headed back to die Brood , now we fishing the drop of the tide , and well we had 2 big mullet out , and worked a third rod with Tjokka , and Pike . Sards . NIKS .

Somethis is up , and I can't really put my hand on it .

EISH !!!
