Funny thing is , most people that has not been camping here , before . Camps close to the Walls in the site when the wind is pumping . Stay away from the walls , it is worst there than in the open , or just get a place close to the Thunderbox , I will still find out how those Bungalows are , to be very honest , the Site has gone backwards , And  am unsure if its still nice / neat ect .

UPDATE


Well the wind has been bad , one day pumping SE and then swinging to SW to NW .


Theres plenty of guys about , some guys talking about a day last week where the Raggies was thick .


The current on die plaat is very strong , and I suggest you try other options avialable to you .


The area between , Skulpies baai and die Brood , have very very good colour , the swell does not affect that area so bad as to the plaat with strong current , anybody that has fished die plaat nknow how bad the current can be  ,  have no news from Brandfontein .


Going on the weather , and how its cooling down Temp wise , I am sure the Crakers will vanish , and the Steenbrass will make a showing ,and my Fav Wldeperd ,  MArch is a very good time to fish here , be it Kob or Galjoen , steenbrass .
I have my hands full with a couple of things , but tonight there a Gap , And I have Crew to mission , hopefully get live baiits , and go tight , the issue is the Sharks of Skates chow your livie , and between 2 guys you have to mission with no less than 15 . You can account out of those 15 , that 5 maybe 8 will be missed fish or btten of , or thrown off , or what ever . So we have to plan a mission carefully , to get enough bait , to keep them alive , and to hit the tide right .
I am keen to still get the ' big night out ' before winter .

how are the conditions in struis for this weekend?

We have been getting good Kob , and Plenty too .
They are all over , the big ones , 10 to 20 kg fish , has been comng out on lvebait , but Sharks and Skates are a pain .
Two strips of Tjokka , not beaten , no Cotton . Anywhere theres colour , we have been getting good numbers of fish at Suiderstrand ,Today too . some good water there.


Plenty pl enty livies around .

Lenny what is it like in struis, any fish coming out ?

Yes Lofty , We have been getting a few , notting in the PB regions , ha ha ha . but in large numbers , We gotthe Kob tree days in a row , where , well we must have each landed a total of 10 fish each between 5 of us in one mission everytime .
Most of them was size , and the larger ones was all between 60 and 71 cm .  I bagged two for my dad and I .


What was amazing is that they were super shallow , and just going really mad , We have previously in past years have taken the odd Kwota or caught like 3 or 4 decent fish  in a session but never like this for so long . They just wanted Tjokka .
This was last week from Thursday , to Sunday , the Kob was going mad , the Boland IC happened , and the guys well got Sandies on die Plaat , I dont know if they knew about the very easy points to the the other side  or it was not in the area they were allowed to fish ... dunno .

Holwing Westerly today , but the weekend seem like there will be nice weather , i do think the water will be a bit clean thought , and forsure cooling down .


I would suggest skipping die plaat , unless you are after Steenbrasse , but the bricks up to Brandfontein are worth a cast . I know about two sizer Crackers that was landed by die Rasper a spot no a lot of guys fish .
The Galjoen will show , too butthe Redbait is scarce now , after the big swell there will be some koppe .


I will not be surprised if theres some Belman also around .


Another concern I can raise is the fact that large buckets of HTH gets thrown on the slipway during Springtides , to eat the moss , I know other harbours use Lime , what I also thnk is a more 'eco freindly ' way .So no Grunters in the Harbour . 
We have a blind seal in  the Harbour , and 7 big blackskates

HTH??  Who's bright idea was this? 
Why don't they buy a high pressure washer and blast it off. I am sure if they do it at every spring tide it will work better than HTH and it will be more eco friendly.

I forgot to mention , that there millions of Birds working between Skulpiesbaai to past the light house , out of casting range , but very cool to see , not the one twos diving , but hundreds going ballistic , they are feeding on Ancovies .


Theres so much baitfish and birds that the birds just float on the ocean , to heavy of full to fly ...
One might have been able to reach them with the Westerly early this morning .

thanks for the reply and update Lenny,there's a heavy red-tide here in Mosselbay...a friend of mine went to Gonubie(East London)to play bowls and he said that there's red-tide there too...I haven't heard of anything coming out here,but this red-tide can't be good,might be better towards Gouritz area... howling wind here today too,a friend and I was supposed to go for a bike ride this morning but the weather isn't nice...about 50km/h wind and it's gusts too...no rain on your side yet?Apparently it's gonna rain a little,tomorrow my mom's coming from Cape Town to the Buffalo ralleigh this weekend...

Then we are still lucky , no red tide .Is the water abnormaly Warm Lofty ? Have a look on Danie Gerber Weathersite , its does seem that the average temps are up along the East and West coast .  hopefully we will not get it .


Very light Easterly , with clouds and a bit of Rain , cooled down quite a bit .


Dont really have a lot of info regarding the weekend . I had some mates from Capetown and had to ' entertain them ' they are not the fishing type guys so we opted for a couple of Beers .


The Elf Showed on Friday night and Saterday , all on Floats .
Kob is still around , and a hit and cast mission will have results , I sent guys to a place where the fish has been coming out for the past week and they got notting there , but guys on Friday night got fish there .. There was a Club comp on also , only heard via Joker , that ther was acouple of Rags .[size=78%]  [/size]

Sorry for the late reply, Lofty. It will definitely have an affect on the fishing and generally the fishing here is a bit slow at the moment. Apparently it cleared a bit during the weekend.
