Thanks for the input Sylvester . Wow no bad I saw a couple of guys leaving and one of them could not get out of the Cabby , I thought he was just Hungover , but now I know it was sore back . LOL

Got word of 4 very large Kob landed last night 20 to 35 kg fish , I cant give excact details , but I can tell , you it was not on Livebaits but on Tjokka , big Chokka baits .

Its close to Suiderstrand , it seems the large kob has been landed there the past couple of days , hopefully not all will be slaughtered .

Tomorrow looks good , I have a fresh occy , and low is on a nice time , so I will be fishing .

I know there has been Sightings , quite a few .
Twice , when I went out to sea , I saw Commercials , loosing Haspers too , a Tail getting eaten by Marlin , I know the One guys very well , and just saw him Pulling a fish up , then resorting to wrapping the line around his olies , and pulling over the gunnel , and the next moment , guys laughing and him Swearing , prettye funny , pretty intense. He could have lost his Arm or got pulled overboard . This was about 2 weeks back , Jig , one a handline , tail on the jig , marlin on the Tail , geez hows that .

There has been a couple of guys fishing for them , but at this stage NOBODY will tell the truth , of where , how many , Theres already guys Locals and outsiders fishing for MArlin .

I have not have a look at the wind or Weather , but Will not be in town the WEekend , Its a Release comp , and NOBODY , want to bring in a fish , this is very well known fact about this Tourney , which is very good to see . I like it . Some of the guys taking part are also commercial fisherman , well I think most of them are in the Industry ,Fishing / Boating ect . Its good to sea they also support , this when they can !

We went for a cast , the Wind was South west , and The place  called Loodswaai , the water was up , and clean , we managed to get a good couple of throws in over the rocks , loosing a fair amount of sinkers , and almost anoter Gentleman , who washed of the rocks . Now He was a good example of ' Mr Knowit all ' He offered to shake my slide , a fresh Tail head a big one at that , I reckon , yes  i knew I would have gotten a pull on that , so he walks of , I can check this guy , is a bit slow all of a sudden , He heads of the the rock perfect place to launch , the slide . Now he Stalls , gets the clip going , and it hits the only rock in the area , Now , he seems to be facinated by the reel , next moment , Wave claps right next to him , he vangs n Skrik , and steps inside a whole , he then proceeded to roll down this gully , With the only thing not in the water , the rod . So Donnie standing close to him , also check hes panicking and making a fool out of himself . I am now worried that this guys cant swim , because it sure as hell that hes hardly able to float and not really getting grip , he is how ever , holding on to the rod for dear life . he gets grip on the rocks and the gully emties out agian , next wave washed him straight out to sea . He then got on a rock [The same bladdy rock that blocked my slide] .
So obviously lost a bit of line , he recovers the Slide and head , he then confessed that once he got washed over he's beanie was so heavy and kept covering his eyes and he couldnt see , so this fool , saved his beanie but almost drowned .
We had a good Laugh , with him , no injuries , a bit of scuff , basicly all over his body , Wet Blackberry and brused Ego

Donovan , said : When he was getting washed around , he told him 'Help ' and then Donnie just said 'Wat moet ek doen '

If you would see the place , where this happened you would NEVER think its possible , just a smalle lesson agian , in how quik , stuff could go down hill .

Thanks Lenny, like you said things can go pear shaped in seconds. Just one rogue wave and you are in trouble.
Please keep the reports coming, it will be interesting to see what is happening there as the comp draws closer.  :fshn: :billf:

I am a bit confused about The dates for the Marlin Comp , some info say it starts Today the 6 th and some info states the 9th or 16th . I can confirm that theres no action at the club , so my ques would be it Starts Monday , and Runs till next Weekend .

SW winds are up howling , no colour , and for me no fishing , seems like it will prevail this weekend .

Over and out

They fished the plaat again today, will be there again one more time and then last day at the Damme. According to the info I got yesterday. Fishing was still quite slow with the sea slightly up from day 1. When I spoke to the guys this morning the bags had not made a showing yet. They have been early morning and late afternoon fish, generally speaking, but fishing has no rules only guidelines....

Rest day tomorrow then plaat area to de mond Thursday and Damme on Friday......1 duckbill today and one disqualified raggie. Rest mostly Sandies. Sounds like WP are still topping the charts. I am waiting patiently for the scores to come through.
