my wife is too sharp to fall for that.
and she knows I am faulty....or bossies as she concedes.
so i just make sure there is no slip. ever.

oh, and always but at least one R15 item. let that one fall out onto the floor when you get back so she gets an idea what this stuff really costs.

I take out the pricey stuff and leave the packet of cheaper stuff on the table...

Aussie lures....

The missus and her mate are going to Adelaide to see her mates Mom who isn't to well, then up To the Sunshine coast north of Brisbane to see more family.

She is taking a big suitcase so there is room for a few 'trinkets' so the questions

Pakula lures come to mind but what is recommended?

Anything other lures that we can't get readily get here

Pakula Lumo Sprocket a must for me.... I've bought a few Polo Kai lures which I've yet to swim. Some good Shimano stick baits, Black Magic jigs and other odds and ends that we don't get in SA.

Honestly though, I've tried 4 different tackle shops in Perth and have yet to find one that comes close to Kings or BM for both selection or price.

I looked at the Pakula lures in Aus, but they are cheaper here in SA through Shag or The fishing Pro Shop. Think a lumo sprocket was $65 and R495 here. Everything I looked at over there was more due to exchange rate.

I can do....must admit the sprocket has not been succesfull for me really but cant despute its effectiveness.

Went into Basil Manning the other day to pick up a March copy of RSD, only to find they were already sold out.

So instead I got a new Shimano Trevala 7' Light Medium. Its a beauty....

Shag, are those Owner Jabu hooks? I see you sometimes use them in your lures. I tend to go S/S but hell at 250 per 3 10 mustads they steep.

How are those owners against rust? The cost of rigging with cable thimbles etc adds up, and if the hooks wont last a season due to corrosion (no matter how you wash spray etc) its annoying, not to mention the stains on the lures. Aklso if the crimp and hook eye is under shrink wrap you cant see the corrosion.

I also prefer stainless, but doing some experimental stuff at the moment. I would say these jobus last 2 seasons. They do corrode even with salt off etc, and they are by no means cheap. Far from it actually. The new jobu comes with a sacrificial anode to assist with corrosion but I am not 100% confinced as yet. But the jobus are fantastic hooks. The best hooks I have used are the hays hooks, they are pricey and a bugger to sharpen but they are super strong and do hold an edge once you get them sharp.
