Toppie, if you're recruiting new "David's" from this thread, you could soon be on tour with  a whole team of messed up addicts. Think it's a great idea, that way you can illustrate all the stages of this terminal illness. (clap)

I suggest you go the whole way and join Alcoholic's Anonymous, or the Lighthouse Mission.
 
Perhaps you have heard of me and my nationwide campaign in the cause of temperance. Each year for the past fourteen years I have made a tour of South Africa and Mozambique and delivered a series of lectures on the evils of drinking and fishing tackle addiction.
 
On this tour I have been accompanied by a young friend and assistant, David Powell. David, a young man of good family and excellent background, is a pathetic example of a life ruined by excessive indulgence in alcohol, fishing tackle addiction, and women. 
David would appear with me at the lectures and sit on the stage, wheezing and staring at the audience through bleary, bloodshot eyes, sweating profusely, picking his nose, passing wind and making obscene gestures, while I would point him out as an example of what debauchery would do to a person. 
 
Last summer, unfortunately David died.
 
A mutual friend has referred me to you and I have taken the liberty of observing you for a few years now. In my opinion, you are a natural, and a perfect replacement for David, and therefore I wonder if you would care to take David's place on my next tour.

I dunno.. what's with the women?? :dunno:  or does she own a Tackle shop!!!! :hnthnt:

I'm not an addict!!! I can stop when ever my bank manager feels like it!! Visited Gani's in Witbank yesterday and walked out with 2 Penn squall 60 ld's plus penn rods, 2 Iland lures, 4 Rapala X raps, 4 Halco lazer pro 160's, crimping tool with a whole set of crimps and other odd's and ends like cuta dusters, sea spooks, nylon ext!

Gents please make sure to take a non fishing friend with you to your next TA outing because taking a fishing friend can ruin your bank balance!!!!

had to go get a  :shmno: stradic 5000fj today(for my b.day which was on 01/01/2014,got a very good wife... :hehe: she understands my addiction and is helping me get better... :crzy )Stradic is going on my new poseidon ultralight spinning 1-3 ounce(which I got for christmas,also from wifey... w;k )...and had to get some 20lb braid and fluoro leader....and some bucktails....and some goodies for my lighties...each got their own little tackle box with a selection of hooks,swivels,cotton,sinkers etc....eventhough they used mine when we went fishing :blush: :hehe: :happ: :yipee: now for the weather to clear... :rain: :hnthnt: :fshn: my boys already asked to go fishing tomorrow...weather permitting.. :clwn so I'm giving the younger one my daiwa regal 3000(15 lb braid) and a 7"rod,and my eldest either my penn fierce 4000(with 20lb braid) or shimano sienna 4000 and a 9" rod as he doesn't like fishing with braid yet... :win:

Does it ever end............ Somehow got my eye on a Amia 11 Ft with Microguides and a Stradic 5000 FJ and 15 lb Gosen Braid.
 
Problem is the Wife fishes as well so I will have to double up on this order ------------ which is going to cost a whack. So the good old credit card will be talking ......loudly pretty soon.

as mentioned on other threads,I got a poseidon ultralight 10"6 spinning and Stradic 5000FJ....after casting with it I came to the conclusion that I will need more spoons,plugs,bucktails and leadheads to name a few,in the 2-2,5 ouce weight range...so back to the "store" for me SOON... :hnthnt: :hehe: :happ: ... :blush:

I got the bug two days ago - and went to buy a few hooks and things - walked out with a Shimano Clarus 6'6 and a Symetre 2500 and 15lib Gosen, a range of lures and leaders etc  - I needed that 7th rod for my little boat (really!)
