Sorry guys it's happend again   
saw this and just had to have it. It's the new "UV bright" Rapala x-rap magnum. They say fish can see better if the lure is UV bright go figure  . Must see this littel sucker under a ultra violet light.......It glows.

Hmmmm, I bought some clear UV paint and tried it on several lures, yes it looks awesome under a blacklight (UV), BUT, it surely did not work with regards to upping the strike rate. Now here's the thing, I took lures that I knew that work, covered one with the UV paint and left the other as is. Both produced fish, but the UV lure actually seemed to scare the fish rather than atracting them,  admitting that it was Bass lures and obviously fished in fresh water, but again I am not conviniced that there should be such a huge diff between salt and fresh. Perhaps the salt fish will react to the UV coating better than the fresh water fish?
Having said that, the lure still looks GR8 and so  to hear of your relapse. Think we must start a support group and call it "TJA" "Tackle Junkies Annonymous" or "UTAA" "Ultimate Tackle Addicts Annonymous". We will have to have at least two meetings per week, if we stand any remote chance to assist with rehab.

tackel junkies sometimes get a "pay back"!


Bought a rod for R1300  three weeks ago form my usual tackle shop


Last week I was walking through another (newly opened) tackle shop and noticed the exact rod marked at R900!


I went back to the place I bought it at (I am a regular there and they know me well)


The salesman was shocked and spoke to the boss man....who 10 minutes later came and spoke to me. He apologized, saying that there was a problem with the supplier and how the rods were bought etc...something about specials and timing...and that the suppliers had not acted correctly. He was p***ed off as anything with the supplier


The end result - I was refunded the difference in price and an extra R50. I was not even asking for any "correction because my purchase was done and dusted - I was just telling the salesman what I had seen in the other shop!


Now that's what I call customer care!

You will virtually shed tears if you knew, I had a freind who owned a tackle shop and on some items the mark-up was 400%, yes 400% on most other items which included rods and reels the general mark-up was around 150%. This excludes the mark-ups the suppliers had  already added from getting it abroad and distributing locally.

Ies true, I just wish that I could buy the stuff I actually need and not just stuff that will gather dust in some forgotten corner, case in point, my recent discovery of two shimano rods, yes TWO and the one still had the price tag on when I took it out the rod-sock.

Perhaps you have heard of me and my nationwide campaign in the cause of temperance. Each year for the past fourteen years I have made a tour of South Africa and Mozambique and delivered a series of lectures on the evils of drinking and fishing tackle addiction.
 
On this tour I have been accompanied by a young friend and assistant, David Powell. David, a young man of good family and excellent background, is a pathetic example of a life ruined by excessive indulgence in alcohol, fishing tackle addiction, and women. 
David would appear with me at the lectures and sit on the stage, wheezing and staring at the audience through bleary, bloodshot eyes, sweating profusely, picking his nose, passing wind and making obscene gestures, while I would point him out as an example of what debauchery would do to a person. 
 
Last summer, unfortunately David died.
 
A mutual friend has referred me to you and I have taken the liberty of observing you for a few years now. In my opinion, you are a natural, and a perfect replacement for David, and therefore I wonder if you would care to take David's place on my next tour.
