Winter is almost finish and we cannot wait for summer...at least the flowers are in full bloom already here in the West Coast. The water in the lagoon looks brilliant and lost of fish show on the fish finder, but wait `till you put your toe in the water to find it to be 10deg....no fish can feed at that temperature.I often get asked when the fish will be here..they are here, but to give a better reply,it`s best to recall what happened  last year....This is what happened...
*End July=Few small Stumps, some Kolstert at leentjiesklip.
*1st Week Aug=Miserable weather,lots of flowers,water 13 deg,few small Stumps.
*Mid Aug=Fat big Stumps galore,no sharks yet.Water 15 deg
*1st W/end Sept=First Kob 5kg.big Stumps 14 deg water
*Mid Sept=First small Elf ,4kg Kob,big Stumps,14 deg water.
*End Sept=First Steenbra,big Stumps,Kob at Spreeuwalle.lots of Cows,lots of Barbel.Water 16 deg
*1st W/End Oct=Water 16 deg Good size Blou koppe up to 50cm,Elf season closed, but Elf moving in.
*Mid Oct=Phosphor in the water, small Kob at night,First Smooths showing.lots of small Elf,plenty big Stumps.
*End   Oct=Very strong winds, plenty Kob at night, big Blou Koppe bite skelm and   only a few now after the many of the past few weeks.

So get those equipment serviced..it`s almost time...can you feel it?

Thanks for the great report Daisy.

I am looking forward to Langebaan, all going well I will be up there in the middle/end of August.  Fingers crossed that the water is a bit warmer.

Ahhhh Oom Daisy! our other home is just up the road from you and we haven't met before! Was back in Britannia Bay 3 weeks ago but Winter chores ruled, not fishing. Got to keep the house lovely for when we aren't there........ sort of like owning a fancy ski-boat and not using it!!!

I am missing the Weskus and the "skelm" White Stumps!!!!!!!!!! We have a busy August, and September.... but I need to go back to the most BEAUTIFUL place in our country!!!!! and in fact one of the most beautiful in the world. September it will be.

Is it possible, sometime mid-late September to fish with you? If possible, it will be greatly appreciated. The 'baan from a boat at night will be a 1st for me!

Have gear, will travel.

Cheers, RB
